In a powerful and iconic scene from the classic sports comedy Major League, Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn, played by Charlie Sheen, makes his grand entrance into the stadium for the climactic final baseball game of the season. As he strides onto the field with confidence and swagger, the energized crowd rises to their feet, passionately singing and clapping in unison to welcome their unlikely hero and cheer him on to victory.

Major League follows the story of the fictitious Cleveland Indians baseball team, which is inherited by a new owner who attempts to put together a deliberately horrible team so she can move the franchise to Miami. However, her plans are foiled when the ragtag group of misfit players, including charismatic ex-con pitcher Ricky Vaughn, somehow start winning against all odds. With the help of their grizzled manager Lou Brown, the team comes together, believing in themselves and defying expectations as they make an improbable run at the pennant. The movie is a hilarious and heartwarming underdog tale celebrating the power of teamwork, determination, and the love of the game.

The Indians missed such an opportunity when they went in 2016. Can you imagine the opening pitch. This song comes on and Charlie Sheen comes out with the Vaughn jersey?? Cleveland would've LOST. THEIR. MIND.

It doesnt matter how many times Ive seen this movie... every time I see it on TV or streaming I will watch it.
This is one of those movies that never gets old. Absolute classic.
In my opinion, one of the best baseball movies ever made.
  • I can never get enough of this movie. Literally no pitch ever beats a well located heater !

Some people will disagree, but this is one of greatest baseball movies ever made besides bulldurham!

Few years after this came out my friend and i went to a minor league game. Section we sit in spent most of the game yelling out quotes. Most fun I've ever had at a baseball game.

This basically happened in the 2021 NLCS. Braves Dodgers, Matzek came on with runners at 2nd and 3rd and no outs and struck out the side, the last batter was mookie Betts and he threw 3 straight fastballs to strike him out. Insane to watch. Haha
  • Haven’t seen this movie in decades and yet I still knew the line “Come on, Ricky, give’m the heater.”

This is old school baseball right here. When managers used their experience, instincts and gut for this type of scenario. God, I miss baseball played like this.

  • Say what you want about Charlie Sheen, but dude has played some iconic roles.

The funniest part about this is it was filmed in Milwaukee county stadium.

That ain't right! I was TWENTY when it came out!
  • One of the best buddy movie of MY time, along with The Replacements with Keanu Reevs and Gene Hackman.

Saw the Cleveland premier. The sound when Ricky walks out of the bullpen still sends chills up and down my spine.
