This is the worlds smallest working LEGO V8.

It uses the LEGO original "fake cylinders and pistons" in combination with a custom crankcase, custom crankshaft and custom valves.

The valves and crankshaft werer custom made and designed by myself.
The crankshaft is partially made of 3D printed parts and partially made of metal.
The valves are made using two different tire valve cores.

The crank case was designed by ‪@venturilegochannel9991‬ :

He also made a very similar engine, but because of the valves, mine is smaller ;)

  • i love how the tubes look almost like a set of headers that thing sounds amazing
  • @godsrambo_
Sounds phenomenal! Excellent work! Hoping for a tutorial :)
  • @Ercatena890
sounds more real than actual mini gas engines, good job!
  • I'm an automotive mechanic/technician and I love this! Those valves can be a valuable component depending on the torque output. I get that it's a pneumatic engine, but I'd love to see this in a moving model! This inspired a quick search for a torque converter to help prevent stalling, but instead I stumbled across an auto 2-speed gearbox that's incredibly simple. If the vehicle weight is on the heavier side, this T/M should be able to go into its lower 2.33 gear, then after acceleration go to 1:1. Here's the vid link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjhBIw50gFk This can be big, please make more content about these!

Wait, someone really did my dream? Someone really did a working Lego V8 from layout?! Truly masterpiece!!!
  • @VSteam81
Sounds like a beast! Would love to see this powering a lego car!
  • I love the intake manifold. It looks like a LS low profile manifold but it still looks like its actually made with Lego bricks. Absolutely awesome.
  • OMG ! that's the most beautiful working V8 I've ever seen! (Sorry for the 2 weird holes in the 3d part, it was supposed to fit 2 metals bars for more strength). And the performance are amazing two, well done 👍.
  • @slammed_mocs
This is the best engine I have ever seen, it even sounds like a real engine! Good work!

I love functional/practical application Lego builds. Making something that's potentially useful out of Legos is amazing. I've seen Legos integrated into PC towers. This is definitely the most interesting application for Legos that I've ever seen. The Lego Transformers kits like Optimus Prime are fascinating as well, transforming from vehicle to robot mode without rearranging the bricks is phenomenal.
  • Sounds like an actual engine? Check. Revs at 4000 rpm? Check. Coolest lego engine I've seen? Check.
  • ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, you need more attention, I wish I had skills like you!
  • @clementpoon120
PLEASE release this as a lego set, looks like a really nice "your first engine" kit that wouldn't cost much
  • @Elmom_
The fact a pneumatic Lego engine sounds better than that electric Dodge Charger thing
  • @theyeetus1428
Interesting how the air flows in through the outward-facing side of the pistons and out through the middle, opposite to how real V8 engines work.
  • Oh my God that's the coolest thing I've seen today! You sir just earned yourself a sub. Will you make a video on how it's made?
