Fantastic run. This is my favourite game on your channel at the moment. One small nitpick, you can’t move or see through the purple corners of the hexes. That’s going to be really important in some of the dungeons so bear that in mind.
  • Damn, good on ya to call out stuff that was in White Dwarf. I've not even touched it before, so knowing of special Blackstone Fortress missions not included in the box's a good thing.

Thumbs up before I even watch. Because I know it's gonna be good. Let's get to it.

Need to do this mission on my next free day, especially since I just love playing with Taddeus. This guy is so frigging awesome. Out group finished our first fortress run last weekend, of course we picked the one with the chaos lord first because why not start with the hardes one... He nearly murdered our Eldar ranger in one single round but in the end, Taddeus, UR-025 and the ratling twins pulverized him with their guns (and boy was UR-025's player pissed that the ratlings got the killshot, stealing the hammer right from his grasp :D). Anyways, as always great video, I love watching how you progress through the game =)

Pretty cool. A little dicey there, almost lost both of them on a lot run. I just picked up the December White Dwarf for this mission too. Looking forward to playing it.

I swear every time you said "blessed aquilla" I heard "blessed tequila"
  • I enjoyed this run through - I have the White Dwarf this is included with so will definitely try it out. I also like the solo play element 👍🏻

Hey, love the series! I'm noticing you're making some mistakes that are making the game much, much harder than it should on yourself. You're doing Charge wrong, those lasgun cultists should not have shot anyone Last page of the combat rulebook: 'Move towards the closest explorer. Then attack an explorer that is adjacent and visible to this hostile' Since they were not adjacent, they had to move towards the nearest explorer again instead of firing. Even if they could shoot, they should have shot Vorne instead of Taddeus. They could not draw line of sight to Taddeus from where they were. The picture on page 11 of the combat rulebook shows this scenario and says the line of sight is blocked. You played Advance wrong, that spindle drone should have shot Vorne after moving. Last page of the Combat rulebook: 'Move towards the closest explorer. Then attack the closest explorer that is in range and visible to this hostile.' You also played Vorne's targeting wrong. If there are hostiles next to an explorer, they can't shoot anything else that is further away. They have to target the hostile that is adjacent to them. Page 11 of the combat rulebook: 'If the attacked is adjacent to an enemy miniature that is visible to it, the attacked must attack an adjacent target, and cannot attack a target that is further away' When that one hostile was deployed back onto the board via the event, I believe it has to take the same actions a regular deployed model does. So either move towards the closest explorer if it can't see them, or attack the closest visible explorer. It probably should have attacked Taddeus right when it was deployed next to him. I know comments usually get buried, but I really hope you see this one. I really love the channel and want to help get the rules right when they can affect the gameplay.

My wife and I just did our first Stronghold mission. The rulebook was a bit unclear on how many clue cards you have to have. We took it to mean each explorer needed to have a clue, for a total of 4. Mainly because I don't think there are actually 16 clues in the deck. Is this your understanding? We also did this mission, tons of fun. We got lucky and Pious just inspired instantly and burned all the heretics. As they should be, filthy chaos scum. Good video; the Emperor Protects, even with 2 grievous wounds each.
  • Played this today as my first game of BF. I got very very lucky and breezed through it but ooft it can go bad quickly.

2 weeks is way too long to wait, You should do blackstone every week
  • @Firedrake18
Great videos however as mentioned a couple of mistakes. What hasn't been mentioned is line of sight. From center hex to center hex and red walls also block.
  • Think a charge move asks them to attack adjacent, or move again if they are not adjacent after first move. Think those lasgun guard in first combat should have been moving up. As others have said they couldn't see Tad in the elevator doorway, and he couldn't shoot them either. All pretty irrelevant as the main story was some pretty rough dice that almost did you in, exciting run.

    Danggg... Thx for video
