Wesley Snipes deserves to recognize as the real start of the MCU.

Ah late 90s early 2000s where there was alot of trench coats, leather outfits, dark sunglasses
  • Wesley Snipes is a highly trained martial artist and actor. He's been training since he was 15 and holds black belts in 5 different styles.

Whistler isn't a doctor. He said "Doctor Karen Jensen." He's a vampire hunter and inventor.

Blade is badass and cool. Blade 2 is equally or even better than the first movie.
  • The movie that unofficially started the MCU. With the success of Blade, Marvel realized they could make quality content in their own right without having to rely heavily on a major studio. This, of course, led to the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films, and the rest is history. And you should definitely watch the second film.

Marvel sold the licensing rights to this movie for $25,000. That was their cut on this. Things changed lol

Wesley was born to play Blade I swear, and my boy Stephen Dorff was epic as Frost. Dope reaction girl.

Its hard to believe but Blade 2 is actually better in terms of the fight choreography, special effects, and story. And this is a classic
  • Can I just say Meg has looked so healthy and happy lately it's really great. Hopefully she sticks with the rest of the movies, as much as people rag on the 3rd.

This movie was the revolutionary marvel movie that put marvel movies on the map before ironman 1.

The funny part about when I saw this movie was I had already been introduced to Blade, Whistler and his origin story on the Spiderman animated series that aired a couple of years earlier on Saturday mornings. Of course, it was G rated way the hell down in the cartoon from this movie, but seeing it in theaters I was like, "bout time we got a good super hero movie that wasn't for toddlers". You should definitely check out the sequels, the second one because it's excellent and the third because of how unintentionally funny it was
  • This is the movie that kept Marvel from going out of business. Definitely shows what Marvel looked like before Disney. Lots of people believe this movie gave inspiration to the Matrix films with the leather trench coats and sunglasses, plus the resemblance of a "bullet time" scene with the littlle girl at 23:39.

This was childhood memories for me. My father took me to this in theaters, they gave you a poster if you said a secret buzzword. Great time. Miss ya, Pops
  • Fun production fact: When Donal Logue was playing Quinn in the full body burn make-up, he actually broke his jaw. So he had to be rushed to the hospital, still in full make-up, and when he arrived the hospital staff initially freaked put because they thought all the burns were real and the crew members escorting Logue had to explain, "No, this is all fake. He's here because he hurt his jaw."

"I need a video game with this" Good news they are making one.

The record keeper Pearl is a reference to kingpin when he became a vampire in the comic books. Also in the comic books blade was not a half vampire he was just a vampire hunter with no powers. Blade got infected by morbius the living vampire and that's why Eric Brooks AKA blade can walk in the sunlight because morbius technically wasn't a real vampire. There are other circumstances to how blade became blade but that's the basic story.

Comics Blade is slightly less super but even more stern 😅 listing his frequent team-ups would take forever, but Spider-Man and Werewolf By Night are pretty iconic ones

"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." Meaning the bonds formed in fellowship are stronger than the bonds formed by birth.
