UPDATE: Just took delivery of an XSR900 GP press bike for the next 2 weeks and immediately recognised the right hand switchgear from this video. So it looks like they've borrowed it for this test bike, and it does indeed house the sensor for a RBW throttle. As such, I'd be very very very surprised if the next version of the T7 doesn't ship with more up-to-date electronics.

If it ain't broken don't try and fix it. If they change the looks they'll probably spoil it. If they try for more power, they'll lose the low down torque, and it doesn't need any more tech, it's simplicity is a selling point.

Updated Suspension, tubeless wheels, low slung fuel tank, removable rear subframe.

It always amuses me when “influencers” say the T7 is “lagging behind the competition” with a “lack” of technology. That’s what makes the T7 superior to the competition. I’m selling my 890 Adventure because my recent acquisition of a 24’ T7 is more of what a purist is after. I hope the 24’ T7’s TFT dash doesn’t get moisture on the inside like the KTMs, or the cam issues that many owners are going through… luckily mine checked OK at the 11k service. I’m just glad the T7 is finally readily available here in the states. Yamaha, don’t change too much. The rocker switch, you can if you want, I don’t mind it. The exhaust needs reworked so it won’t hit the swingarm after crashes, and upgraded suspension would be nice. Maybe more fuel capacity… maybe, not a huge thing. Otherwise, keep the price low and we can mod it ourselves.
  • I've owned 47 motorcycles in my time..from 210hp down.....I now have a world raid...have travelled with it...got to say .probably the best bike for all round I've owned.....😮
  • @BR4Now
I would love tubeless wheels and and an adjustable windscreen. Cruise control would be great too but really, I love the simplicity of the bike. I just hate changing tubes on the side of the road and I like being able to put the windscreen lower when off-road.
  • @bensnipes7288
Bought my 2022 Tenere because of the simplicity. I dont want traction control, ride by wire, cruise control, TFT display...etc. I want to be the motorcycles brain, not the motorcycle be my brain! Love my T7! 72 Hp is plenty for 75 MPH cruising and more than enough off road. To me its a perfect partner in the stable to my DR650
  • @IRLtrolls
Realistically all the T7 needs is tubeless wheels and it will be pretty much perfect. Cruise control would be nice but that means TBW. Most can live without cruse control or just get a throttle lock for $100. The tubeless wheels is something that’s very important to most riders
  • They're going after Suzuki and Honda. They will increase the displacement to a 750cc, add RBW for ride modes and traction controls, the world raid fuel tank. It will reach 80 or so HP. Hopefully they put better suspension or at least spring rate... And it'll sell for an extra $1,000

Choosing a T7 is really easy in Canada. Only one variant available. I don't know why North America never gets the full line up.
  • @downhillupside
I'm totally fine with the HP number. Particularly because if the displacement gets bumped past 700cc in my area of the world, I'll see a giant jump in insurance costs.
  • @casey3057
I’ve always loved the T7 but the fact that we can’t the World Raid over here in the U.S is a major turn off for me… I really hope they change that with this next launch.
  • Tbh I think HP numbers are fine and that's what makes this bike so special. It's not over the top crazy in power figures and that makes it way more usable off-road. There's a video by Motology films demonstrating how more horsepower is not always equal to better performance.
  • Great content as always; please let us know when you know more about the Yamaha R9.
  • @nickpaull2362
Come on Yamaha, let's have that 900 Super Tenere you have missing from your line up.
  • @gregducati999
the problem isnt the HP the problem is the weight, the T7 isnt significantly lighter then the KTM 890r but has much less hp so either Yamaha needs to increase the power or lower the weight to make it competitive
  • @78Outlaw
I hope they don’t spoil the bike by chasing power and adding weight via displacement, the CP2 is one of the great wee hooligan back road motors
  • @zuhair6661
Do more of the riding videos. I miss them.
