Hey guys, im trying to upload once a week.

So day is about a universal oil cooler kit that i personally love. Its affordable and reliable, like stated in my video Its the same kit ive used in my 240sx for over 3 years. I've never had an oil leak and it just works plain and simple.

Having an oil cooler is actually very important when ever you like to go on spirited drives or track driving. Maintaining your oil temperature is a vital for any engine you plan to upgrade.

Considering this engine doesnt even have an oil cooler in the first place means this should help alot with keeping my oil at a good healthy temperature while driving under boost.

The good aspects of an oil cooler :
-Holds about one more quart of oil than the factory, meaning cooling is more easily maintained.
-Keeps your oil from boiling meaning you will not have to worry about excessive wear on the internal parts and keeps the viscosity consistent.
-On turbo charges cars you can tap the line on the return side of the sandwich plate which will deliver cooled oil to your turbo.

( make sure you have sufficient oil pressure on the return side of the plate so your turbo does not experience oil starvation. On my 240sx the oil pressure on the return side is slightly low but on the feed side its perfectly fine.

Be sure to check out www.diyautoftw.com which is a diy page still in the making.

And if your interested in buying this exact kit its listed here : www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Oil-Cooler-Kit-Honda-Ci…

There are other dimensions to choose from for the oil radiator. Im not sure of the site its from has many other dimensions but im sure if you look youll find the desired size you want.

Great kit. 2013 Hose sprung a leak, nothing touching it. Swapped to quality lines and it's great.
  • Thanks for the review, very well made video! I have a tip though- Using Teflon tape or an appropriate pipe dope on the threaded fittings for the sensors and where the hose fittings screw into the sandwich plate is a good idea, but never use any sealant on the hose connections. It isn't necessary because the actual sealing surface is the flare fitting, not the threads. Using tape can actually cause a leak if the tape gets in the flare joint and keeps it from seating correctly. You can coat the threads and the flare with oil before you tighten them down so it tightens smoothly, but never use a thread sealant on a flare fitting. I hope this helps you or someone else!
  • can also blow oil cooler and lines with air compresor, use some blue loctite on fitting that will fasten the sandwich to engine block just in case that when you unscrew the oil filter the whole assembly doesnt unscrew all together.

What’s fascinating is that after 9 hrs the link still works.

I just ordered this kit for my 2019 Nissan frontier 2.5. I will be towing a small RV . I have a gauge kit monitoring my oil and it gets pretty hot going up hills

Hah thats the same kit I got for my KA24E.  I think I got it off some dude on Zilvia or something back in the day.  Do you run the turbo feed line off the plate on one side or the stock pressure sensor port?  Also do you run a thermostat in the setup somewhere? I heard people on the forums complaining about oil temps in the winter.
  • Thank you for the review of this oil cooler. I am thinking about getting one of these for my 2005 Civic, but my only concern is about this oil cooler overcooling the oil and slowing down the warm up, especially in the winter. Does this oil cooler have a thermostat, or can I add one? Thank you for taking the time to read my comment and address my concerns.

Don't use oilcooler without thermostat flange. It will keep oil temperature below working specs. Instead if use thermostat, oil temperature will never drop under 80*C and radiator will keep high temperatures low(you want oil temperature to not exceed 110*C and not go lower than 80*C)

Most of this stuff looks high quality from looking at it, but there's a lot of parts that fail under load. Longevity tests are what determine whether or not your oil cooler setup is any good. i.e - That sandwich plate is not thermostatic - a feature you should have for a car that is going to be driven on the street. Fittings are prone to leaking or failing - mishimoto is notorious for this. Sandwich plates can crack and fail over time. Just because something is heavy or light or made of aluminum does not at all mean it is high quality or tested.
  • Great review.. I was thinking about getting this one on eBay today but I saw on some forums people had leaks from it. I have a 2014 WRX and I track it occasionally. I was about to spend $500 on a mishimoto one but you do recommend this one?

how to modify oil cooling system in hornet 160 ??and how please make a video
  • @salmaniqbal7889
hello how are you doing , sweet and short I have 1980 Toyota corolla , does it works in it
  • @fidelcatsro6948
yes it dreadful to see engine oil turning into cooking oil at high temperatures...its really beneficial to have an oil cooler to drive our primitive inefficient combustion engines that produces so much heat until we can find a better alternative to replace the combustion engine..on my 1200cc air cooled bike, this is probably the only thing that's preventing the engine from melt down...we live in the tropics where its 35deg C all day!
  • @Mr.Cynical92
Did you notice any increase or decrease in your oil pressure after the install on your dash. I'm thinking of adding an oil cooler on my 65 mustang if I'm going to be using headers and adding A/C.
  • @focushawaii808
How is the oil cooler holding up since your vid since it's a few yrs. old?
  • @DamnnnJohnny
i know this might be a dumb question, but can you drive with an oil cooler in the rain?
  • @Columbariusify
If its Universal does it mean it will fit on all cars regardless of filter oil that car uses? Oil filter cap seal ring diameter may be different right?
