Let’s go back to a simpler time. There’s nothing quite like taking a stroll down memory lane and reliving the shows that we so much looked forward to back in the day- today let’s revisit Little House on the Prairie. It was 1974 and America needed The Ingalls. The country was in the midst of a tiresome and controversial war in Vietnam, and a rustic cabin in the wilderness filled with a wholesome family was exactly what we needed.

Although the show followed the life and adventures of a family living on a farm in the late 1800s, the issues they dealt with are still relatable to viewers even today. The show became a big hit right off the bat and will certainly be remembered as one of the greatest shows of all time. The show was based on the best-selling series the Little House Books, which were actually semi-autobiographical, based on the author Laura Ingalls Wilder’s real-life family. Laura lived from 1867 to 1957 and is responsible for creating the book series that would pave the way for several on-screen adaptations.

  • My family thinks I’m cheesy for loving this show but it brings back so many great memories for me. It never gets old. I know that all things must come to an end but it could have gone on for another few more seasons for me. I still watch reruns every chance that I get and I just learned that there were many episodes in seasons 8 and 9 that I don’t even recall ever seeing.

I grew up watching this show and continued through my adult life. I am now 61 years old and I still watch the repeats if I find them . The Little House on the Prairie is one of the best shows on TV that ever was shown. Back then when decent programs were shown for the old and the young as well. It would be nice to see something like this again in this time now. There is too much violence shown now and too much indecent scenes on certain progrrams. Thank you "Little House On The Prairie for giving us such wonderful and amazing true life entertainment of all time.

I am huge Michael Landon fan. Still makes me sad that he is gone. I still watch little house and highway to heaven today. Him and Victor French had amazing chemistry.
