You are not stuck until you can't move backwards or forwards, the terrain was just suggesting you take another line.

I enjoyed the part where they were talking about how it was a hard course, that was when i realized these guys were pretty new to anything offroad. There comes a point when you learn its a lot easier to give her a little throttle than it is to dig yourself out.

I'd love to see you get an old retro workhorse Kawasaki bayou 400 4x4 ATV from the early to mid 90's, and run it around the course for comparison. I think it would do almost as well in the muddy bits. Would be super useful to keep on the ranch to. I imagine you could pick one up pretty cheap these days. Not a high speed quad, but great towing ability with the super low gear :)

This was my favorite vehicle to ride when I used to work for Polaris.
  • One thing I've learned when I watch people approach mud holes as they creep right up to it and almost sink themselves down into it. I figured maybe you were just doing it for the sake of the video but just regular riding I've always just went up to it and hammered it right through otherwise you get stuck. Almost every time.

This thing is amazing. I like that it has a rear sway bar for added stability with the IRS. And I agree, the 2 cylinder sounds so much better than a thumper.
  • Great video, carried me back to when I was a kid but back then it wasn't quads it was 3 wheelers, I had a 1985 Honda 350X & always had a blast on it. I was one of the few that didn't break a leg on having fun. They were some dangerous machines but fun also. 350X no helmet & running 75 mph through the woods.
  • Still riding my '03 Polaris Sportsman 600 twin, love these machines! Great video

I have one of these and love it. It’s far more capable then what I can do myself. Dunes mud nasty trails does it all and very stable
  • Hold my beer, while I take out a second mortgage on my house to afford this thing 😂😂😂

Thank you, love the channel, like 2vintage channel, always a joy to ride without the expense
  • @DUNEATV
I wish Polaris would let me test this machine out at the Glamis sand Dunes!

    That's more HP than a 85 Mustang 4 cyl...
  • Looks like it would be fun to ride, but these new 4 wheelers are so freakin big. I think I'll stick to my 220 bayou. It's great for my trail riding, it's small and nimble enough to get through pretty dense woods. And if I get hung up, it's light enough to just pick up and move. Plus I didn't spend more on it than any of the cars I've ever bought!

That short wheelbase hurts when trying to climb out of the creek.

Man. nice it looks like a hoot to ride, I had a Scrambler 500 it was alot of fun, this new Scrambler is to big for the off roading I do !
