HELLO FRIENDS!! So, I found something... a few months ago, while we were trying to film a video where I let TikTok ads pick my outfits, I stumbled upon... this dress. It goes by a few names but it's most commonly some version of the "floral midriff shaper corset sundress" - and after buying one for the video, my for you page started getting flooded with TONS of ads for what looked like the same dress - but all from different companies, and with wildly different price points. So, I decided - let's buy a few of these bad boys and see what actually ends up at our doorstep - and find out, what the heck IS up. Where are all these dresses coming from? Are they all the same dress? Clearly someone is lying here - but who? I guess we'll find out...

I am LIVING for how totally unhinged Saf went when she sniffed a scam. This is a masterpiece. This is a Netflix doc. This is DETECTIVE LEVEL SH*T
  • @specteramber
We, the collective, appreciate you spending over 400 USD and 6 months buying and investigating dresses that are the farthest thing from your own aesthetic
  • @donnahuang5567
You deserve a Pulitzer for this piece of investigative journalism
  • @SalviAlmighty
The fact that the whole POINT of this dress is the corseted back and none of the dupes have it is INSANE. Honestly I love this kind of video wayyy more than the "I melted every x together" videos, this was super well-researched and presented!
  • @senatordavis13
Safiya turning into a social media consumer protection investigative journalist is the energy we all need
  • @KS-pw7yb
There needs to be more punishment for online fraud. A lot of these just want your card information to further steal from you and they never get in trouble for it
  • @ichavez4514
Funny that "LARROBE" in spanish sounds like "La robé" wish in english means I stole it 😂😂😂😂
  • @melissathomas218
Funnily enough, House of CB started out as Celeb Boutique, basically doing decent quality knockoffs of expensive bandage dresses and then branched out. Now it has those same factories doing knockoffs of their dresses 😅

The biggest problem is that real-deal small designer shops that create their original products probably suffer because all the copycat fake ads overshadow them.
  • This has become a a HUGE problem. I don’t make clothing, but I am an amateur silversmith. Even at my level, I’ve had photos of my jewelry stolen and used on some sketchy sites. I work very hard on my pieces and spend hours on photography alone. It makes me extremely angry knowing my hard work is being used to scam people out of their hard earned money, and it makes people less inclined to purchase genuine artisan items.
  • It's really wonderful to come across people who freely share valuable information online. You never know what kind of knowledge you might stumble upon that could have a lasting impact on your life.
  • @anap1799
I am still in awe that they managed to track every ad, seller and review. Kudos to Saf, Tyler and team for the amazing work!
  • all jokes aside, Safiya has singlehandedly done more to investigate TikTok’s data-mining operation than the united states congress
  • @EwaHlebowicz
She needs a netflix show for this, the amount of time and effort put into these videos and researching things is unbelivable
  • @NameUnimportant
18:57 😂😂😂 I don't know why I stopped watching your channel but I just remembered why I loved it. Your passive aggressiveness, reading the ENTIRE 47 word name of a dress lol etc
  • @abbys7931
This is top tier investigative video journalism right here. I was so tempted to get this dress (from one of the scam sites) months ago but got sketched out and decided against it. I too started seeing it advertised a ton all of a sudden. This phenomenon makes me feel uneasy that's for sure
  • @nakaka3236
Safiya should get into more investigative journalism like this. She’s a great presenter, and there’s so much material to work with in the fashion/beauty world.
  • @amandagreen4332
Bernadette Banner did a great breakdown of a scammer who stole her dress design. This was a few years ago- but the scammers just keep spawning in the TikTok swamp.
  • @Foxillia
Google person was a guest speaker at my university a few months ago on the topic of scammer. She said the scammer websites shown to us are only 10% of them. AI can detect duplicating of photos and texts and block 90% of those sites before reaching us. If her number were close to reality, it meant there were actually more than 500 sites selling that crappy dresses. 😮
