THE MATURE VOCALS WITH THIS SONG IS CRAZY 😭😭
  • @sophiaswiftie3659
The high notes, the maturity in her voice I'm crying 😭😭😭😭
  • @b.verena115
"I'm shining like fireworks OVER YOUR SAD EMPTY TOWN" gave me chills
  • @camillefaith2005
It hits so different hearing a 33 year old Taylor sing this as opposed to a 20 year old. I can't imagine how crazy it must be to go through and rerecord so many defining moments throughout your adolescence and early adulthood and re-examine those memories. So much introspection must happen from that.

“Over your sad empty town” was the double entendre that we all hoped for. We love you. You did amazing.
  • @giovana4413
the fact she recorded this at the same age as john when they dated back in 2010 is insane
  • @GioGio-fq1vl
My favorite thing about this song is possibly the way she made sure all the guitar arrangements where somewhat reminiscent of John's signature style. She made sure to study his sound to replicate it in a song where she's explicitly talking about how emotionally abusive and manipulative he was. That's some real Stevie Nicks level of pettiness, and I love it.
  • @AlmiraBat
"Too young to be messed with" hits differently now that she's older. Making it clear he's the one who knew better.

I love this lyric video.💜 The way she used the paper background and letter format for the lyrics, really showed like she's writing this letter for someone who broke her heart at a young age. And matched with her matured voice and emotional vocals. You deserve all the love Taylor and this re-record will surely write a new history in music industry.💜💜💜

The fact that Spotify immediately crashed because of Taylor releasing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) demonstrates why she's the definition of the music industry.

I love the lyric change from the beginning to the end of the song. From "I should've known" to "You should've known." Signifying the journey and action of removing the responsibility and blame from herself, knowing it wasn't her fault. It always gives me chills.
  • @queencelestyna
As a fan of Mayer's music, the guitar in this leaves no doubts which "John" she was talking about. Beautifully done.
  • @heidos7
It's insane how her voice sounds so much mature yet the exact same
  • @Loey
I didn't think the original could ever get any better and yet our queen is out here proving me wrong T_T
  • @Ieatrocks4dinner
“I’ll look back and regret how I ignored when they said , run as fast as you can” gives me chills every times
  • @Nada-zd1gp
When she says "I should’ve known" it sounds different from the old version. She says it now with maturity, like she's patting that little girl on the shoulder. SO PROUD🥹
  • @gaidabear4730
Taylor Swift I don’t think you understand how much your music has changed lives for so many people including me. Thank you!❤️
  • @fatimacelis6403
The letters got progressively bolder as the song progressed! She’s coming out of it stronger than ever ❤️

From Teardrops On My Guitar to White Horse to Dear John to All Too Well to The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.
  • @moopop6700
I loved the original so much I didn’t think it could be better, but this, this is soo amazing! The mature sound while still keeping the spirit of the old one. Well done Taylor, we love you!!
