I also failed my Google interview in the same way and I can confirm that whatever you said is correct in my experience. Google asks really tough questions. I had some time leftover during the Googlieness round and the interviewer told me that he had solved 800 LC questions in 2 months to prepare for his Google interview. Google is tough. Best option is to get into Microsoft, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, AMD, Amazon and the like and try to get into Google while you're in there.

The random number generator seemed like the hardest problem. DP is easy once you practice enough of it, and realize the solution is always similar.
