Carl was a good security guard, knew about drones, was reasonable with his questions, was polite and courteous and then went back to work.

In fairness Carl was one of the better trained security guys, and equally he wasn't pushy, and was very polite. He listened courteously to DJ, and then off he went; fair play to him.

Some humans seem to have a bit of a thing about controlling other humans. If I'm honest, I used to be like that myself but then discovered it was neither enjoyable or productive! I now practice controlling only myself and I feel a lot happier about everything. Thanks for the interesting video DJ.

When you went to talk, they just couldn't help themselves asking you questions and giving you orders so the perfect response was to what you did. If they want you, you're over on public land where they have no jurisdiction over you. Is your drone under 250g? Rather than say yes or no, again, perfect response, "what does that mean to you". Let them do the talking to see if their understanding is correct. You're always a number of steps ahead of whatever they can say. Love it. Carl was fine. Perfect way to give them notice too.
