Such an informative video. Thank you so much for sharing all this my dear Nina. 🤗🤗🤗
  • Finally getting around to catching up on orchid vids!!! Loved this one! Dendrobiums are a bit of a mystery to me—my absolute favorite is Hibiki!! Which category would she fall into please? Not only my favorite Dendrobium, but probably my favorite orchid!! Thank you, Nina! You stay safe; I am trying to as well! 😁

Hello Nina ... I think I've mentioned before that most of my orchids are Denphals (Bigibbum). We are currently in the dry season - which will soon end; I can't wait for the rains to start. Although quite a few of them are shooting and rooting like crazy. in spite of the drought, I water every other day - the heat is killing!! However, the Vanda Miss Joaquims are in full bloom with no end in sight. Thankfully our water has a good pH balance. Thanks so much for all the Dens tutorial. Take care and be safe.

This is a FANTASTIC video. A great reference point for growing dendrobiums. You did well to intersperse the care guides into the video. Must have taken a tremendous amount of editing. The final product is SUPERB! Great for use in an orchid presentation. I was surprised to see that I have orchids from almost every group that you describe. I do have a question for you on Den. crumenatum. I had mine growing in a hanging basket but found it too bulky. I moved it to a mount. Now I am wondering if the plant would be better served potted (for its water needs). I'm interested in hearing your opinion. Thanks for another great video production. Stay safe, healthy and enjoy your lovely garden.

Great video, lots of info and helped alot. Nina, I have 2 soft leaf Dens. That get spots on the leaves, yellow patches and some yellow circles. New leaves will begin the same yellowing. I've changed lighting, location, fertilizer. Winter no fertilizer. Their kicking my butt. I don't spray anything on the leaves. I'd love to spray copper😮 but you know that's a no no. If you don't mind I'll send you photos . Thank you Orchid Master.
  • Very interesting. I wish the garden centres here in the UK would be a bit more adventurous with their ranges.
  • @denisesase
Thanks for the info, Nina! I've always experienced low temperature struggles with my Den. Phals. Luckily, I found one vigorous hybrid which will end up being my representative orchid from this category. I won't repurchase these as my policy is to work with what grows best in my environment. It's a shame as I find the blooms so charming 😢

9:40 Really interesting tip about deciduous dendrobiums. The leafs will grow back and then you'll know what to do differently next time. 😊 13:43 Would the Formosae category include the tobaense or cruentum? They have the black hairs and are from southeast Asia. 14:14 The kingianum is supposed to be a very easy to care for cool growing Dendrobium from Australia. I have one since February, repotted it, but nothing so far. No new roots or other growth

Hey Nina 👋 Wow, amazing video as always. I never there were so much sub-categories for dendrobiums! I don't know if you remember that email I sent you about that denphal? Just wanted to update you that it is doing very well!! It looks like we will be blessed with 2 spikes this year! Just one question, as always 😂, one of the leaves of the canes seems to have developed a fungal issue: It has black spots speckled on the leaves, however only one cane has this issue. Any tips/tricks to try irradicate/mitigate the spread? Thanks Nina, your videos always bring much joy and make me so calm ❤🌺💙
