WHO to rename monkeypox amid racial connotation concerns

The World Health Organisation is set to rename monkeypox as some people argue it could hold racial connotations.

The organisation said it strives to "avoid causing offence to any cultural, social, national, regional, professional, or ethnic groups".

An open forum will be held to search for a new name.
