I had one FUT procedure to transplant grafts to both my front hairline and crown area. I was very happy with the results and my stylist said the scar was barely noticeable. However, one thing I suffered from was tenderness around the back of the head for several weeks. And it took years for all of my head to feel the same. Parts of my head felt numb. I was told it was due to nerves that were cut during the procedure that take a long time to grow back. It was a strange sensation but not painful. Just want to put that out there.

You guys have single handedly convinced me to take charge of my hair loss. I got a prescription of Finasteride today and got an appt with Bosley on Tuesday. I am heavy leaning FUT. Thanks guys you rock. I have watched almost all your videos.

The big thing for me is that 2nd positive note where they said you could keep your hair looking relatively normal. Things that turned me away was the idea of walking around with scars all over my head until it started to grow back. I didn’t know there were different types of transplants

Dcotor, is there any surgery available under the name ‘hairline pushback surgery’ for a low transplanted hairline?
  • @DalekKaan101
Would smp on the scar allow for shorter hairstyles?
  • I hope in future we will have a vaccine or something to treat hair loss ... I haven't lost my hair and I hope I won't because my father and grand father didn't loss their hair. But I can feel the pain of losing hair.

Dear Vikram, The last time you responded me advising me that FUT is probably better than FUE due to chances of follicles dying on FUE procedure due to amount of time consumed before transplantation. Can you give me an idea how long the pain would bother us after FUT? Does it affect your movements to large extent with terrible pain for weeks or months? I would appreciate your response. Thanks

Vikram the customer who chose FUT because he had to go to work a few days later was he concerned about the recipient area scars, scabs, redness that occurs for a month plus?
  • Hi outstanding content. Is minoxidil and finasetride should be used life long after hair transplant? This is the only question not many doctors answered properly. Hope u wil answer sir. Thanks!

  • @bomjbruevich
Thank you gentlemen. I just got an FUT today for the crown and I was a little bit surprised how painful it was. Worst pain of my life. If I do a hairline transplant in the future I think I will go with FUE as the less invasive option.
  • @grez6330
My surgeon wants to do both afue and FUT he wants to do the FUT on the Crown to give a better density does this sound right? My report says that I need 3500 grafts and I have a good donor area and I'm stable with 2 to 3 years on finasteride and Minoxidil. I am 53 years old
  • I have had FUT procedures by natural transplant 5 days ago so far so good half the numbness is gone I had big procedure with 7000 graft.

Hello Dr.Jayaprakash, I must say I really enjoyed your videos which gives everyone great knowledge about what is req for them in terms of hair transplant. Your info is detailed, transparent, simple yet very informative. Q : How long does one carry the pain post FUT Surgery? I heard it stays for a long time makes your life difficult. Although I'm not worried much about the scar. I'm very much worried about the pain as some say they were bleeding through the nose. Plz help me understand. Thanks
  • @Eric-ph4yw
I thought FUT was far less painful than FUE. Results are way better with FUT as well.
