The Bible clearly teaches that only the grace of God can save us from spiritual death. But why did God choose to save some and not others? Isn’t that unfair? In this message, Dr. Sproul looks at some of the misconceptions and caricatures of the doctrine of predestination. He explains why Christians should not only embrace this doctrine but rejoice in it.

This is the 8th in a series of messages by Dr. Sproul. See other videos in the series:    • Classic Collection - R.C. Sproul

Amazing message. I was Muslim and i became Christian one year ago. And RC's teaching helped me a lot to understand the Word of God.

To me, predestination is a comfort bcz I know that I haven't the capabilities to achieve anything on my own. And I am so grateful that I have been rescued by His grace, into life and into His eternal Presence. Without it, I would be forever lost.

I was born again on March 1, 2017. During my rebirth, it was shown to me that everything, good or bad, that has ever happened in my life, happened to bring me to the point where I would accept the Lord into my life. It really didn't make total sense to me until I just viewed this sermon, now it makes perfect sense...and I thank the Lord for his saving grace. Why he chose me I don't know...but I will be his servant for all of eternity. Thank you Lord... †

I listen to this message over and over. It is so humbling. It instills a holy fear of God in my heart.
  • "If mercy were an obligation, it wouldn't be mercy, it would be justice." Amen

I'm only starting to listen to RC Sproul now. What a sound teacher and preacher he was. I appreciate his warning at the beginning to handle the doctrine of predestination delicately and to be extra patient with Christians who reject it. Please Lord give me the patience and love I need to share this with my brothers and sisters stuck in the seeker friendly church movement which You delivered me from.

I came across this doctrine when I was newly regenerated and growing in my walk with the Lord. It was timely because the flesh was wrestling hard against my inner new man and I was always mourning over my imperfections. I at times I grew weary of resisting and I thought I'd lose the struggle and end up in hell and my punishment be worse. I read the doctrine and it was too good to be true yet sensible of all. I wept in joy just as I had wept over my sins when I was convicted of my sins. I'm an elect of God by His divine grace. What He saw good in a wretched sinner like me I do not know but what I know is that one day I'll see Him face to face! Thank you Jesus Christ.
