Accused of rape by a fellow student, Brian Banks accepted a plea deal and went to prison on his 18th birthday. Years later he was exonerated with the help of the California Innocence Project. He’s joined on Megyn Kelly TODAY by Project director Justin Brooks and former prosecutor Loni Coombs, with whom he now examines other potentially wrongful convictions on the series “Final Appeal.”

There should be a law to charge woman who falsely accuse people like this.
  • Why blur the face of the girl who did this. She deserves to be shown for what she is. She ruined his life, why does she deserve special treatment?
  • @striving1
This is why I wanted to go to Law School to help people like this.
  • WHY ISN’T HIS ACCUSER IN PRISON!!!! She should have to serve at least 10 years!!
  • @ricardo51468
So no proof that he did it but just her words send him to jail..... TF
  • @juniore8001
She took away years of his life and she wanted “bygones to be bygones”
  • What a beautiful man. My heart breaks for him, his family, and his childhood. Women like this who lie about such a horrific crime, should go to prison for twice the time these poor men had been given. This is disgusting.

I’m a mother of four sons. I couldn’t imagine what this young man & his family went threw .. No words ;( I am so sorry you went through this nonsense 😞 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
  • @Toersk1
its only fair she goes to jail for 5 years and has to register as a Liar and fraudster
  • If there was no physical evidence how did the lawyer not fight this, wow.
  • @ftrebirth4261
The fact that the accuser remains unknown is sickening!
  • @faithhowell9648
The girl that lied should have been put in Jail. This is a painful story.
  • I’m so glad she was ordered to pay the settlement money of $1.5 million dollars back. She should go to jail for perjury.
  • @suziewong5305
If a man is facing 15 years plus when falsely accused of SA and then the woman comes forward to say she lied…she should be the one going to prison. It’s so utterly unfair that the accuser gets to walk away and live their life knowing an innocent person is rotting away in prison!
  • @k.adored3835
This is why it’s so important to understand that just because someone is CONVICTED of a crime does not mean that they committed the crime!
  • @Sebastian-px3bl
She should absolutely be in prison. The fact that she isn't is absolutely absurd

I watched the video and started to cry, not only because of the injustice to Mr Banks, but also the injustice to my brother, accused of similar charges and wrongfully imprisoned. I have spent several years trying to find someone who can help me to get my brother released and his name cleared. We are in North Carolina, a state still so filled with racism and a very unhealthy healthcare system. We need help before my brother dies in prison.

My heart aches for this innocent man. Laws must change now.
