As I just purchase a 120 set of Polychromos, this video has helped me how to lay down oil based pencils. I come from an oil painting background so the dark to light coloring is very similar to oil painting. Thank you so much for your informative video. Regards from Chicago!!
  • This was very helpful. You explain things so well that you inspire the confidence that we can replicate your tutorials.

I love your teaching style and your voice. It’s very relaxing to watch and pick up tips to try later
  • I learned 2 things about using an oil based pencil on top of wax. If you put color from an oil on top of wax, you will get streaks, like someone tried to scrape up the wax. I ruined it picture because of that.

Oh that's why!😅 i thoughts i need to put more or alot of pressure to the pencil but I'm so wrong 😂 so thanks ❤
  • This was a nice tutorial. I have these pencils. In fact I have many brands of pencils. When I buy a new brand, I make a chart, etc. However, as I am coloring in my chart, I start missing my Prismacolor. I love Prismacolor. They blend so well. I do not care for oil based, but i do like my Pollies but not as much as Prismacolor. It makes you work too hard I have painted in oil and watercolor, beside colored pencil. Like you, I start dark to light, with my eye paying attention to the white/bright light. A lot of these oil based pencils are coming out with 240 pencils, which I like variety. They teach you patience! What's that saying.....it is not the act of finishing but the process of getting there which one should enjoy.
