Didn't realize how big this whole Anti Piracy thing has been getting! Seems there's now a new anti piracy screen for just about every game! Some of these Anti Piracy screens are really something else... haha

I’ve gotta say, this is my favorite horror trend yet since the Super Mario 64 Conspiracy Theories.

Don’t forget the actual anti-piracy system used for Earthbound. The game clusters you with way more enemies than there should be, some enemies appear earlier, and the best part of it all, (Spoilers!) if you manage to make your way to the end, when Porky turns off the Devil’s machine, the game crashes. After that, if you go back to the file select screen, you find out your save file was deleted.

My biggest problem with a lot of these is they're too elaborate/hamfisted. Part of the charm with the real anti-piracy measures is they're low key, but usually completely ruin your experience. Plus by being more minimal, it adds to the believability that these game companies would just put in something small/gamebreaking to deter pirates

They are like report the stolen software, so when they ask you why do you have a pirated copy of super Mario galaxy just say, GameStop sold it to me

I'm really loving this trend, but i feel like some people miss the point of these. They add "scary" images and some text and call it a day, but the appeal from them is how realistic they look.

So, one of my favortie anti-piracy screens is actually from Freedom Planet. it gives you a message where it basically tells you that "We know that this is a pirated copy of the game, but it's okay. you can play the game is normal, but please try to support us when you can." which i think is surprisingly kind of them to do, especially since it's an indie game.

I love Animal Crossing one, it doesn't scary, and it doesn't tries to scare you. But it haves nice creativity, and it's so much realistic. I think if Nintendo had a Anti-Piracy Screen for AC, that's what they would do
