I like how Jason is kinda being bulied by Freddy. This of course is a detail that makes sense, since Freddy is just a killer, while Jason was a victim in the past.

My head cannon is that the water itself didn’t scare Jason, it just triggered his memory of him drowning & that’s what Freddy toke advantage of. He was already in the dream world for a decent bit of time & had already experienced a hallucination of his dead mom & I don’t think it’s that far fetched.

My headcanon for the whole “afraid of water” thing is that Jason wasn’t sure if it was water or toxic sludge. He wasn’t afraid of water. He thought it was sludge, and he was afraid because of what happened last time (the whole turned into a child thing)
