Dr. Gundry's Neu5Gc red meat cancer scare: how carbs are the real culprit!

Published 2024-05-05
While every doctor is familiar with the P53 mutation associated with cancer, very few know what this mutation does. This gene keeps cells from turning on the Warburg effect, which is fermentation within the cell.

Few doctors today know about the Warburg effect, and if they do know they probably learned of it outside of medical school. When cells enter this fermentation state, they behave as if the are single cell organisms and consume large amounts of glucose.

Cancer cells can sometimes still use oxygen for fuel, but they invariably get the vast majority of their energy from this kind of fermentation. This is very dangerous, because it creates byproducts the cell can use to rapidly grow.

While normal glycolysis breaks down carbohydrate into chunks to create ATP the Warburg effect essentially works in the opposite manner. Like yogurt bacteria, it builds longer chains of molecules and even proteins using nitrogen in the bloodstream.

This is why it is essentially impossible to starve cancer of nutrients, the bloodstream is always full of glucose and minerals, and it can manufacture everything else it needs. This includes Neu5Gc or Neu5Ac so there is no reason to limit intake.

Thankfully, fasting does not act against cancer by starvation alone. The main benefit is that it both activates and repairs the immune system. T cells are critical for fighting cancer but without stem cell release from fasting adults stop making them.

Macrophages and T cells become damaged and useless over time, leading to a state of immunosenescence with age. A 72h fast recycles about 1/3 of your macrophages, and releases stem cells to make T cells which are critical for fighting cancer.

Fasting also forces cells into a state of oxidative phosphorylation which gives energy to the mitochondria. In damaged cells like cancer cells, this often allows the mitochondria to cause apoptosis to kill the cell.

Even if a cancer cell does not go into apoptosis, producing large amounts of energy using oxygen will often kill them. This leads to a large amount of ROS, which can interact with horded intercellular iron to make the cell burst from inside.

While cancer is generally called a genetic disease, in reality it is a disease of the mitochondria. DNA in the cell nucleus is extremely good at repairing itself, but mitochondrial DNA is extremely fragile and easy to damage.

It is mitochondria that control apoptosis in damaged cells, and which give the nucleus energy to repair itself. When they are damaged, the mitochondria produce more and more ROS, and over time this will damage the nuclear DNA in the nucleus.

The root cause of this issue is when linoleic acid combines with glucose in the mitochondria to form malondialdehyde, a mutagenic poison. This damages delicate mitochondrial DNA and brings the cell closer to becoming cancerous.

Fasting and a low carb diet will do a great deal to prevent or even reverse this damage. Linoleic acid gets forced into the cell when triglycerides are high in the bloodstream from a high carb diet, which also greatly increases blood glucose.

Saturated fats cannot enter the cell membrane unless the membrane brings them in, so a low carb diet full of saturated fats is good for the mitochondria. Stearic acid from beef is particularly good for the mitochondria and benefits them in unique ways.

While many chemicals and many forms of radiation cause cancer, the mechanism is the same, mitochondrial damage. If it were direct DNA damage to the nucleus, cancer would occur immediately but it always happens many months or years later.

Some supplements I take regularly, many of which will aid in mitochondrial function:

6g taurine
6g glycine
3g AAKG
1g TMG
1g L-cysteine
250mg niacin
250mg bilberry powder
500mg Hyaluronic acid powder
300mg oil of oregano (in addition to the toothpaste)
60ml vinegar neutralized by one teaspoon of sodium bicarb

I get most of these from bulk supplements dot com and some of them from the vitamin shoppe, which I just pick up in person.

Never expect a man to see the truth if his income depends on him not seeing it.

“Cancer cells hiding from the immune system cause you had some bacon” 😂 had to rewind to laugh twice

Gundry, Gundry… wait, wasn’t that the guy that’s been warning of eating egg yolks forever, but in fact they’re perfectly fine? Yeah, Gundry. That was him.

Thank you so much for detailing in the write-up some of your supplements for mitochondrial health. That is very helpful!

Thumbed up & all ads watched!!! Cant wait to see the pic of the TV screen in my docs office showcasing another PH video 😉

A few years ago wondered about his claims about damage done to the gut by lectins. So I watched an hour long interview he did where, during the last 10-15 minutes of the interview, he said he only eats once a day when he has dinner with his wife. That alone would cause significant weight loss and maintain it.

Appreciate your time on this. Definitely answered some questions and reminded me why a change of lifestyle is and was for me needed to keep cancer at bay. Oh and got to 85kg..Yay😊...Im nearly a lean mean fighting machine 😅. Thanks 👍

Hi PH: can u please do a separate video describing (A) your daily supplement routine (B) when you take them during the day (C) If you cycle any of these 6g taurine 6g glycine 3g AAKG 1g TMG 1g L-cysteine 250mg niacin 250mg bilberry powder 500mg Hyaluronic acid powder 300mg oil of oregano (in addition to the toothpaste) 60ml vinegar neutralized by one teaspoon of sodium bicarb

Good call, I hadn't noticed his Loma Linda, Seventh Day Adventist connection before.
  • Gundry and Burg (scientoligist) are 2 people I would steer clear of. Both are motivated by money, which they freely give to their religious organizations.

Gundry used to be very overweight and while thinner he doesn't look healthy. I've never trusted him. JMHO

Have you thought about putting all this information into a book? I am just writing my third book, and I have edited several other books. Luckily for me I have a way to sell my books that bypasses the censorship (my books were all banned by Amazon etc. even though my 2nd book was a number 1 bestseller across all genres, even though it was a 400 page book with over 500 footnotes by an unknown author, not the typical bestseller type of book). Last month I sold 1000 copies of one of my banned books. That book is in a field in which I have no qualifications but I spent 10 years trying to understand why the experts were all lying, then 2 years writing the book to prove that the truth was the opposite of what the public was told for decades. Clearly the public appreciate having the lies exposed, but the powerful use technofascism to stop this coming out. I don't think Amazon would ban a book by you on health and nutrition. Amazon self publishing & distribution makes the initial stages very easy. I literally have to pay a printer upfront, then run my own website and distribution system. By this time next year I will have several more books out there exposing different lies.
