her voice, her hair, her dress, the orchestra, the piano and the sun almost finished setting in the background, im honestly kinda obsessed
  • @calinueva
She is the opposite of "not knowing what to do with your hands"
  • This sounds like something that would play at the end of an Apocalypse movie. Especially the “where did we go wrong?” part
  • @ninnusridhar
I think the genius of this cover it actually highlights the somber tones of the song. Like the whole thing is usually set very sunshiney, but the lyrics themselves are PERFECT for a sad and somber moment.
  • @MiaMaven
She looks like a Greek goddess painting has come to life.
  • So excited and proud of Allison! She’s a former student of mine and we always knew she was destine for greatness...this is stunning!
  • I’m sure that Jeff Lynne (founder of ELO) is VERY proud of Allison’s performance on this video. She’s found a way for this song, which is one of my life long favorites, to touch my heart in a different way, equally as enjoyable.
  • @CH-es4up
Proof that good music is good music. And this rendition is absolutely beautiful!!!
  • Every song that PMJ covers instantly becomes magical. I really love this one.

Probably the best cover I've ever heard....and that said from a ELO fan who has followed the group for nearly 45 years. Magnificent voice and magnificent orchestration from PMJ😊
  • @flickwtchr
The change of tempo and the amazing interpretation through Allison's singing definitely expresses the inherent longing of the song's lyrics. Extremely well done.

You know what's weird? She has some of the best Jazz club singer arm movements around, just incredibly expressive and perfect for the moments in the song. I assumed she had been doing it for many years to get that good. But her other videos are generally her with a guitar ... and she is ridiculously young. I'm not sure she has ever performed like this before. Just a perfect natural. She has a life full of amazing performances ahead of her.
  • @joebill3400
The most unexpected and soulful cover of this song I have ever heard.
  • @lillithdv8
She reminds me of Venus from Botticelli. She has such mellow presence and lovely voice 10/10 would listen over and over again
  • @johnroyston3859
My goodness she is captivating - that voice, her movements, the inflections she uses... Everyone on instruments did great but she is truly breathtaking and really made this rendition something special 👍 wonderfully done!!!!
  • @Just5ayJess
I could see this playing as a sort of bittersweet ending at the end of some form of dystopian movie. Or perhaps a spy film
  • @assasinsmine
I've never seen someone who looked just like a marble statue came to life. Beautiful song, beautiful music. Best rendition of Mr. Blue Sky I've heard so far.
  • @TimmyB1867
I've always loved this song, but this version has a sensuality the original didn't. Made all the more by the amazingly talented and lovely Allison Young
  • @JeffreyGuevin
That last note, landing on the 9th, most certainly gave me chills.
