This song makes me feel homesick and nostalgic for a place I've never been to.

Trøllabundin means spellbound. In the viking age, 'Galder' was a kind of magic song that was used in seiðr (magic/witchcraft) practiced by mainly women, and to 'galdra' was to affect something by magic singing.

I am Italian, so very far, culturally, from her world...but every time I hear that throat singing/whispers, I feel something ancient calling me and telling me to go "lose myself to find myself" in the woods. And I did...several times... there's probably hundreds of "ME" that got lost among those trees that I left behind, and thousands are still waiting there for me to find them. Magic
  • Easily the best musical performance I've seen in 2023. I feel bad for those that skip it because they don't understand the title.

Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe islands (off the Scandinavian coast) and sings in her beautiful, haunting Faroese language often......there are many live concert performances of this, all good.....she often sings with Einar Selvik of Wardruna....their duet of 'Helvegen' with full orcheastra and choir is moving.......

I went to 2 of her concerts in Vienna years ago, afterwards I went to get her new album and take a photo with her. She said to me: "I love your outfit!" and I replied with "Thanks, I love you!" I still stand by that.

Occasionally you come across something so epic down the YouTube rabbit hole that blows your mind away. This gave me the goosebumps! It was so refreshing to be lost in such a soundscape and hear the human vocal cords producing unfamiliar sounds. Wow, she has such an amazing voice!

English translation- Spellbound Spellbound I am, I am The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul In my heart burns a sizzling fire, a sizzling fire Spellbound I am, I am The wizard has enchanted me, enchanted me Spellbound in my heart's root, my heart's root My eyes gaze to where the wizard stood

I think humanity somehow lost its way, these are our ancestors trying to tell us to take a step back to our roots, we're lost and bound to the greed that runs the world astray, this is why we preserve art and history, and this beautiful piece has roots in times we've forgotten, I feel both scared and motivated, as if I'm sharpening an axe before the battle, there's clarity, but also uncertainty. I love this performance

Eivor is magical. I thought her live version in a Norwegian fjord was the best ever, because of the echoes. Now I doubt. This Danisch orchestra adds more otherworld magic to it. Wonderful!

I don't understand a word... but OMG my soul FEELS every word, sound, emotion. I love her facial emotion! What an amazingly talented human being. From the U.S. I am

  • @Perle2000
So powerfull! It's not just music. It's art, story, history and emotions in the same time. Love it...

Never seen anything like this before, but she just has awakened something deep within me. What is this? She seems like she is conjuring something ancient and magical. I can feel it 🤗
  • @lukasmarks6504
That one violinist with a helmet at 4:28 made me grin like a little kid 😁 Also very hauntingly beautiful performance
  • What an incredible voice. The orchestra did such a great job of evoking emotion. This is a great clip of fantastic music.
  • @mattfeest5809
Every time she performs this live its slightly different...this version just blew me away .....again ❤
  • @Alhem11
Oh yes, that concert was a magical evening, I think we were all a little Trøllabundin (spellbound) by the music 😊
