Ifrit was never seen before so he's not passed down any line at all as far as we know. He awakened in Clive bc he is Ultima's vessel, not because of pure bloodlines. He also awakened at 15 as a teenager, not a full blown adult. The phoenix is, before Ifrit it awakened, the ONLY eikon of fire and only awakens in the Rosfield line. I also find it strange you called Joshua Sanbreqois nobility....like straight up most of the things you say in this video make no sense.

Remember when Hugo, in his Titan form, eats a piece of the mother crystal he drinks in its raw aether and transforms into a brainless monstrosity at a scale that dwarfs the very mountain he spawned out of. The name of this Boss fight changes from that of Titan, to a new name Titan Lost. This could be very much what happened to Leviathan as well. AKA the dominant and the eikon existed at one point but due to some unknown circumstances, the eikon or its dominant attempted to absorb a portion of this mother crystal and became a raging mindless calamity of the seas that needed to end up being put down as a result. Such a tale as to the fate of Leviathan seems completely voided from all historical teachings on Valesthia so it could be that it was Ultima itself that had to intercede and wiped away the rouge Eikon, that would explain not only its erasure from the world of Valesthia but also any mention of it from the realms historical texts.
  • I always figured it had something to do with the giant crater outside of the Crimson Caravan town. This story blew me away. I hope they release more stories of this caliber.

Valisesthia is one part of the larger world in FF XVI, it is possible Leviathan being a sea creator and only select a tribe that is sea fairers or pirate tribe. In a DLC we may explore a new area or it is possible leviathan lays slumber in the dark crater of the battle where the "Gods" once fought near the Dominion. If examined closely from the Dahmelkian side of the border, it looks like there are some structures or paths along the walls of the crater.

The moment Joshua said “leviathan the lost” I was livid, cause it would have been so cool to see in this game, I’d gladly trade Garuda for Leviathan, in terms of what they could have done. 15 made leviathan seem like the ultimate summon lol, so I’m just like damn we couldn’t have at least seen a fight where it died idk just seeing it would have been awesome

I believe that Leviathan is no longer present because it's mother crystal - Dzemekys - was destroyed in the past. At least that's what I understood from the lore.

This video aged like fine wine CAUSE THERES AN EXPANSION/DLC OF FINAL FANTASY 16 AND IT HAS LEVIATHAN AS A PLAYABLE EIKON ABILITY 💀

The Iron Kingdom actively sought and slayed their Dominant. Jill still had access to Shiva despite the crystal in the Northern Territories having been destroyed for at least over a decade. Eikons may be tied to the crystals in general but not specifically. The Dominant of Leviathan could have awakened around Twinside or the Iron Islands. As an addition, the reason the city on the water was called Twinside isn't because its central location but because there used to be two Mothercrystals situated close to each other, the towering one looming over Twinside, and the former crystal located at Dzemekys.

I dont understand why no one reads the tomes. it says in there explicitly that ultimas vessel is ifrit risen all the other eikons are considered lesser and only exist to test the suitability of mythos. all these theories just ignore the games lore. why no leviathan probably cause the line no longer exists.

If you notice the Crystal locations "Drakes head, drake's spine" etc. It implies that Valisthea is located ontop of an ancient dragon. Maybe Leviathan is living underneath the land.

With the ending having Clive lying on the beach, that would be a great start to a DLC about Leviathan, maybe the dominant showing up there to save Clive.

My theory: Levianthan DLC will be on the past. If you read the lore about Dzemekys falls, its say that once, was a mothercrystal there, and makind challenge god. The battle was devasted, and in the end, god wins. In the age of the Fallen, man, hoping to claim the power of the gods, laid siege to the crystal in an attempt to gain entry to its aether-rich heart. Rather than attempt to fend off the assault, he instead responded by destroying the Mothercrystal and its heart—the great crater left behind standing as a reminder of man’s hubris. Leviathan Eikon rebel againts Ultima and got defeated. Ultima then banished him for all eternity for his "sin". He say to Clive in the final battle that he will make Clive suffer for all eternity because of his sin. Thats why Ultima dont use Levianthan's power, why "God" is gonna use a power from a sinner/traitor? If he is call the lost, its because no one saw him in a long time... The Levianthan and Ultima is similiar to God and Lucifer.

My guess is that leviathan already awoke, before the story, and was maybe relevant to ultima awakening from their slumber and drakes eyes falling into the sea. Maybe we will see him in a dlc about valisthea past, how jil and torgall ended up in rosarias...maybe torgal mother was a companion to this dominant, and he was essential to clive aeaken as the mithos

You didn't spend much time talking with NPCs, did you? When you reach Northreach there's a group of NPCs talking about a sea monster pointing at a frozen giant structure north-west of Sanbreque, looking at the world map it points at the north region, leviathan probably lies over there, it may be entrapped in ice by an old shiva dominant. If it's still frozen this may explain why it's not awakened in a new dominant, cause it's still alive buried in ice. There are 3 missing crystals in the game, one was destroyed by waloed and Odin, one in dzemekys by ultima against the fallens, there's no mention about the reason why the north crystal is missing, a fight between shiva and leviathan may explain both the missing crystals, the reason why we didn't get a chance to explore that region, the disappearance of leviathan.

I think there was a quest line for the blacksmith, where a traveler went to a far away land to get an obscenely sharp blade that was obtained with a set of whetstones. On the stone map of Valisthea, at the end of the game, you can see a small area on the south eastern part of the map that was not explored. Maybe that was the land where those blades came from, and where we may see our hidden tribe
  • @guidedsoul7914
Plot twist the Leviathan dominant was actually Uncle Byron
  • @LeeZard27
I suspect that Leviathan could be linked to a clan of people from the 2 islands to the West on the map. They are shown completely blackened by the blight, and are never visited in the game.
  • @kaylaroo710
If you go to North Reach after you do the quests there before Origin, there's a woman telling kids a story about Leviathan. So the Eikon is known by others and not just Joshua.
