Ruby has no right to call the children she abused for "my babies". They are NOT her babies. You are supposed to love and feed your babies, not hate, torture, gaslight and starve them.
-
They should not be paroled... ever. Make Ruby and Jodi stay in prison for every second possible.
-
The sick thing is, that both Ruby and Jodi are getting treated MUCH better in prison, than they treated those poor kids.
-
Four years is a joke for what they did to their children . And being OK with 4 years says a lot about you as a lawyer. The state of Utah should be ashamed.
-
Ruby pretending she's sorry and crying in the courtroom makes me sick. These 2 women had zero compassion for the children. They're the ones who are evil, not those poor innocent kids.
-
The prosecutor is making it sound like Ruby only began abusing her children after she met Jodi Hildebrand. That is not right, it started WAYYYYYYY earlier with her husband Kevin, who was also abusive towards the kids. Maybe the abuse became more extreme after Jodi entered the picture, but it was severe abuse, mental and physical for many years, maybe always.

“Hopefully nobody gives her food.” No, Ruby, no!!! That’s sick!!!
-
Says it’s horrific abuse and then proceeds to give them the minimum sentence.
-
Hold the father accountable too. He should be charged with negligence.
-
The video about the child not packing her lunch and how Ruby thought she should just go hungry should have been enough to get a visit from CPS.
-
This prosecuter and his gullibility even after admitting it was one of the most horrific things he’s ever seen, is what’s wrong with the judicial system.
-
I love that you highlighted the most beautiful thing about this ugly situation… the absolute respect, tenderness and sensitivity shown by all the first responders. Every time I see the footage I’m so impressed with their restraint to not show excitement and overwhelm the little girl in the closet when they finally found her. Trust was won gracefully and these offices should be proud of their work.
-
Ruby fooled the prosecutor. I hope he sees the light soon. She abused her children LONG before she met Jodi. Denied them food, made them sleep on the bathroom floor, etc.
-
The system needs to realize that Ruby was abusing ALL of her children long before Jodi got involved. She is just as guilty as Jodi
-
Utah seriously needs to charge their laws on child abuse!
-
The ring video gets me all the time. It must be the first time the child felt real, heart-felt compassion.

I'm a qualified child protection officer. It's very rare to see this kind of highly organised, systematic abuse, backed by a whole perverted philosophy. They did this in cold blood, and the whole house was organised and stocked to facilitate their cruelty. It's truly jaw-dropping that two different women were crazy enough to think that this was the right way to parent.
-
I hope the parole board becomes aware of the fact that Ruby was mistreating her children in her thirst for control way before Jodi came into the picture.
-
Shame on this guy for saying crimes don't often happen in certain neighborhoods or income groups. The only difference is that wealthy folks have connections that allow their misdeeds to be covered up or never reported. It's this kind of attitude that allows these kinds of atrocities to continue, and flourish...

Have to say the couple who answered the door and the first responders are truly hero’s. They restored my faith in humanity! Thank-you for truly being amazing! These kids will never forget your kindness and love!
