Riding out an epic 73 mph blizzard in my cozy van, stranded in deep snow covered roads. Surviving the most Severe Blizzard of my Life. Winter Van Life Camping in Extreme Snow Storm & Hurricane. This was the worst blizzard I ever experienced in the van, the winds where up to hurricane force, and even though I was hunkered down and camped in between buildings, it was nearly tearing my van to shreds. I got a lot of trouble with snow leaking into the seams and joints of the van, the exhaust for the heater getting clogged up. A lot to handle and crazy extreme blizzard, snow storm and hurricane conditions. It was awesome to film!
I make coffee, talk about my heating system and cook egg and avocado burritos, and I wait for the plow truck to hopefully arrive so I can get out of there.

Part of the series:
Surviving my First Arctic Winter of Extreme Van Life. Solo in Hurricanes, Blizzards, Snow Storms & Camping in Extreme Cold Freezing Temperatures.

This is my complete second winter of Winter Van Life in extreme conditions in the North, living in a van during freezing temperatures. Starting in November I go through the whole winter season of snowy winter adventures from November to April, with snow storms, blizzards, extreme cold, extreme snowfall, slippery roads and some amazing winter beauty as well.
I also show you what I learn as I go from my second winter in the van.

About me: I am a Norwegian adventurer and wilderness explorer. My youtube channel focus on outdoor wilderness adventures and exploration, backpacking, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, climbing and mountaineering. Nights spent in a tent, alone or with friends. From the snow covered mountains and misty fjords of Norway and Scandinavia to the remote plateaus of Yellowstone and the debts of the red canyons of Utah to the summit of Mt Whitney and the heart of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. eating burritos, drinking hot coffee, enjoying extreme weather conditions, reading a good book and the van rocking you to sleeping...like a baby, what can be more satisfying than that?
  • There's nothing better than being inside of something warm and windproof while it's terrible cold outside.

❄ It's comforting to know that I am one of many thousands watching this video right now ❄

I love hunkering down in inclement weather when you're prepared for it. Having the necessary tools, supplies, and shelter mean everything. You're only missing a dog for security and companionship.

Here's an idea. Keep a hand held hair dryer in your van. Next time you can use it to melt the ice. Works great on frozen pipes.

My heart rate goes up just watching this! I can't even imagine what it would be like to sit in that van with all that chaos going on outside. You are a brave man.

Hi Jarl. Here's not much I can add to the accolades others have already expressed. Absolutely stunning footage, and I'm so glad you remained safe!
  • It is something about your videos that always have me ending up in bed under the covers with some hot chocolate . Thank you for letting us live vicariously on your adventures. 💜❤️💜
  • Your work deserves to be seen and thank you for teaching us city dwellers who know nothing.

I was so cold watching this. I was under my electric blanket, drinking hot coffee and it was 60°F (15.6° C) out. You have such an ability and talent to capture the feeling of actually being there with you. So glad I didn't have to shovel the snow. Thank you so much for the wonderful adventures you take us on. Stay safe in your travels. Mary

Im watching from my cosy bed. That storm looks terrifying especially with the van rocking. I would have been awake all night with hot coffee.

Hello from Canada. That's a nasty snow storm. Here I have seen winds of almost 140kmh which I believe is over 38m/s. That much wind is not normal here but I've seen it quite a few times. I drove a snow plow for many years and it's nice now to be able to enjoy winter a bit more.
  • Thank you for recording this for us to watch and mostly importantly please take great care in that very very bad weather many thanks may god bless you for recording it
