Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

This verse has been misunderstood as a promise that when we seek God's Kingdom and live a righteous life all our desires and wishes will be fulfilled by God and we will lack no good thing.

But was Jesus guaranteeing fulfilment of all our desires in this verse...?

Thank you for sharing with the context. Most often people pick up one verse without the context then misinterpret it.

Thank you so much for explaining that verse in its rightful context. "Seek" means to search, to find out, to enquire about God's Kingdom which consists of Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.
  • The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness is simply..Love and Peace. Jesus said to be Perfect as your Father..Love your enemies and Jesus said peacemakers are the children of God. We seek Love and Peace.

Amen! Biblically accurate. Let me add that God Almighty is concerned with all aspects of our lives. The bible says "the earth is the Lord's and everything in it."
  • God is bigger then that yes he does what us to prosper even as our soul prosperā€™s he said our very best is filthy rags to him , look at the world and see how beautiful it is, God did that God is not man. Heaven is more beautiful then anything we can imagine.God donā€™t want us sick and poor , man does because he is far from God and donā€™t know him like I said God is a big God. Now you tell that to somebody who donā€™t know any better. Look up see the universe who put it there itā€™s beautiful God did that . Remember who put Jesus on the cross. He came to this world to tell us we can have life more abundantly. So for that they killed him. šŸ™ amen

Amen. ā€œThe kingdomā€: This is the same as the kingdom of heaven. It refers to the sphere of salvation. Jesus was urging them to seek salvation ā€“ and with it would come the full care and provision of God (Rom. 8:32; Phil. 4:19; 1 Peter 5:7).

What about the verse where it says: if you pray to The Father in My name I will do it for you?? What about : everything is possible to those who believe? What about: if you are Christ's you are heir to the promise given to Abraham??
