This is a New Movement Technique called Air Surfing. It is very similar to barrier surfing except this can be done anywhere. With Air Surfing you can cross massive gaps while GAINING height.

There are several places where hitting an Air Surf is faster than a traditional skate. That means this tech has value for both Speed Runners and anyone who knows how to skate. If you have any questions about how it works let me know and Enjoy the Video!

The epitome of “I must go now, my people need me”

That Strand Dive transition from Dreaming City to Neomuna was slick :)

2 hours ago, and I already find 4 people trying this in the exact same spot when I first log in

I kinda understood the movement until you mentioned d1 tower vault. Brought back too many memories in that clip haha

The simple visual demonstration of the difference a vortex frame makes was SUPER helpful. I've seen so many people say it goes faster/further but nobody show a real comparison like that. 👍

No joke when you said start spamming jump I thought "huh, kinda like how you used to get on top of the vaults in d1", and not even 30 seconds later XD. thanks for the info!

Even if this is not technically “new” this is the first I am hearing of it and you explained it perfectly, helped me to do it within a few tries and it made me very happy so thank you Mr
  • The only thing that will pull me back into Destiny the damn movement tech

The fact that before he included the d1 segment, I thought of that exact spam jumping glitch to the vault aswell…

This has been known for quite a while and is used in one of the beyond light mission speedruns. It was also used briefly in wish before DSM was allowed. People call it debris tech or ring 1 tech in the speedrun community
  • I managed to do this quite a bit when I was trying to figure out how Strand skating worked and if Flatground was possible but could never do it consistently, Super nice someone noticed it could be done and used when wanted.

The moment I saw that strand dive transition, I knew that this is a quality video. Which it is.
  • I love when I’m just scrolling through YouTube and see some awesome new things like this for me to try and learn!!! Awesome explanation.
  • @SKYGAZE
This reminds me of the barrier surf in the moth yards, except you can do this anywhere

This video is honestly so well-made. The explanations are clear and the visuals are really helpful. Comparison between the adaptive and vortex frames is a great addition too.
