That's not a speech, THIS is a speech.
  • The BEST Oscar speech ever! Funny, true and straight to the point!

"One wrong word, one foolish gesture..." Will Smith: "Hold my beer.."

My dad worked with him in the 70s , working on the sydney harbour bridge...dad said the man u see on tv and his movies, is the man he had lunch with everyday...as a Aussie we are so proud of Hougs and love him to bits...!!
  • How true his speech was when he declared that "one wrong move and one foolish gesture could your career could go up in flames". Very pertinent when applied to Will Smith.

When the character loved by millions you created is you, there is no way to go wrong...

“If you wonna relax stay at home and watch it on television..... that’ll relax ya!” Great little line...

He displayed perfect comedic timing, the facial expressions, the pauses.  Just perfect.  Not a hint of nerves either.

This guy was absolutely adored in the UK. He did a run of Fosters ads that were just great. His shows were brilliant. I miss his humour so much.

Paul Hogan, or Hoges, if by any chance you read this. Just like the bridge you once painted, you are a national treasure. You put Australia on the map at a time when most of the world never heard of it. Your country loves you. We are proud of you. Thank you for making Australia and the world a better place. Thank you for making my past a happier one.

“Be gracious, be grateful, and get off!” Beat Ricky Gervais by 34 years...
  • I've been one of his biggest fans since I came to Australia in 1982. Not even understanding English, his show was the highlight of my family's week as we huddled around our modest black and white T.V. to be entertained by this Icon. Thank you Hoges👍🏻
  • He reminds me of my Dad. Aussie, blonde surfer hair, tradie, dry sense of humour, can tell a mean story, and relates to everybody. My old man wasn't the kind of bloke to make speeches though, this was a pearler hahaha.

One of the more underrated comedians of his day.

We need more men like him that are not afraid to tell it like it is 👍🏻 Good stuff mate

Hands down the best speech ever. He went out on a high note and he isn't even from America. Showed us a thing or two, well done chap!
