The Subfacts guys react to The Fire Within by WITHIN TEMPTATION

Next to LOVEBITES Within Temptation is my co-favourite band. Please check out more as WT (Dutch band) evolve and change their sound. I recommend anything from their Black Symphony concert but in particular "The Promise" and "Our Solemn Hour" and for contrast their MV of "The Reckoning". This video you reacted to was a compilation from their Worlds Collide European tour which they jointly did with Evanescence in 2020. It had been postponed several times over 2 years due to covid. I lost count of the number of times I had to rebook travel and hotel arrangements.

Within Temptation is from The Netherlands, not from Belgium. They've been around for quite a long time now, since 1996 to be exact and the thing with them is that they've evolved and gone through lot's of fases with different sound on their albums. Personally i like that but some people like the "old" WT more. The last few songs can be seen as a blend of all the styles i guess. I'm a fan of WT but i really wouldn't know how fans are called, maybe WT's or something. I like to call Sharon, the singer, "The Fairy Queen" based on her incredible high tones she can lay out in a song. Not so much in this song though. My listening advise always leads into the same direction, that is "The Black Symphony" concert from 2008 in which they throw everything you can imagine at you. An complete symphony orchestra, a choir, a huge screen, fireworks, smoke, Cirque du soleil kind of artists and a fantastic interaction with the crowd. Evanescence was not really their first part. A swedish group was the first part and both Evanescence and Within temptation did a 1h30 concert. You can consider it as a mega concert xD. I can tell you this cause was in Paris for it. If you want try some other song of them i can adivse you some song like "Angels" , "Faster", "Shot in the dark","Our solemn hour", "Iron" "Ice queen". She did awesome duet too with Tarja from Nightwish (song called "Paradise") and one with Anneke from The gathering group (song named "Somewhere"). I think the one with Anneke is called the best duet.
