YARN TAILS!!! | A Tutorial

Published 2024-05-05
I hope this tutorial is helpful to those who watched it! Make sure that you are in a safe environment (ex: your parents won't hurt you) before you make or buy a tail. As I've said in the past, safety should be your number one priority. That being said, have fun and express yourself! Bye bye! 💛

Four minutes of straight business. Got to it, told us what to do and how to do it. Was respectful the whole time and, once again, didn't waste any time. Also it was super simple and easy to understand. Great job! :D

Time to watch this while working on my tail

I love this idea! You can also add a metal wire in the center of the braid to make more posable for curly tails! Expanding on it as well, if you crochet or knit, you can make a tube shape almost, and tie the wefts to the stitches, making the tail larger. (If that is the look you are going for.) Definitely a wonderful and great idea, I never thought of before. Thank you for sharing! I hope to see more!

You have no idea how grateful I am for this detailed tutorial. I watched a few tutorials on shorts, but they didn't go into much detail, and the first tail I attempted to make.. well.. it had character..? I hope I'm able to make a better one now, my sister really wants one and I'm looking to make myself one for a cosplay. Tysm!!🐾💕

I’m not a furry or anything like that but I DO use A LOT of yarn for my crafts and wanted to add that 1: acrylic yarn is already super soft, but will get EVEN SOFTER if you wash it like you would wash your clothes! You can just stick the entire ball (without the paper) into the washer OR I like to put them inside a pillow case and tie the end shut with a knot or hair tie to keep the yarn from coming out and unraveling! (Most brands of acrylic yarn are both washer and dryer safe, but the paper label around the yarn will tell you for sure so make sure you read that and be safe with your materials!) And 2: if you need cheap yarn brands- at least for my area- both Red Heart and Big Twist brands are usually less than $3 per yarn ball with tons of color options! I just bought blacklight reactive neon yarn from big twist and I’m pumped to use it! (Maybe I should also try making a tail to hang on my art wall?!?)
  • Yay, I’m starting to enter the therian community, thank you for making this (btw you can be a therian without any gear I just like you wear it)

Me watching this to get motivation to finish my yarn tail (I’m using a different method but this method seems so much faster and so much easier to pattern 😭)
