Protecting the Shooter96

As the offensive player begins his shooting motion, take your eyes to the "point of contact" or the wrist to elbow of the shooter. Then as the play progresses, work your way down the body of the offensive player until he returns to the floor. By sequencing your eyes in this manner you will see that the defensive player takes away the landing space of the offensive player and makes illegal contact. The trail official does a great job staying with the shooter all the way up and then all the way down. This is a great example of a single whistle play.
