Mossberg 940 pro, new spring, still 6+1 not 7+1

I wanted this shotgun as I have a mossberg pump an have had zero issues but seen so many problems with it so I'm gonna go with the Beretta a300 Ultima Patrol!

Sent mine back to Mossy. Came back perfect. No drama.

I had the same issue. Only certain shells, even though they say 2 3/4 inch like the Winchester 00 Buck, will only load 6. Many others WILL load 7. I learned that the long way after getting it back from Mossberg. There's nothing wrong with your gun. Some shells are a fraction longer with the same size indications.

I have the Fix for this. I have the same gun and mine would only hold 6 but now holds 7. You must cut your spring, keep your mag tube your follower and the white plug as is and cut your spring to fit. It is a slow process just cut 1/2 or 1/4 coils at a time and then reassemble and test keep dong it until 7 rounds fit. Once you have the length correct on the end you just cut turn the cut end down and in just a bit with pliers and maybe file to get an end that does not gouge the white plug. My gun always fits seven and runs flawlessly it never malfunctions with any ammo including on the last round.

I’ve had the same problem. The only shells I’ve been able to fit 7 so far have been the Hornady critical defense. Hope that helps.

Try loading without the clamp on..... I have the 930 with no clamp...The clamp could be bindng it up

WOW, that's strange. I have the 940 Pro Tactical also. The 2 3/4" shells, it defiantly holds 7 in the tube easily! Love the gun.

Try loosing tube and load it then tighten to make sure spring is not hung up on white spring guide

Having the same issue. I bought the 940 pro tactical and it doesnt fit the 7th round in. Taking it back to the gun store to see how they can help me but ya, only holds 6, not 7.

It's still a nice gun they gave you replacement parts be happy

Mossberg should make this right. Other reviewers are getting 7 in the tube. The White spring guide isn't flipped is it.

Took the spring out and it barely fits seven with spring it only fits 6. The shooting is also so long I never know if it’s seated right

Just leave the white spring holder out.

Mine is 7+1 2 3/4. You must of got a dud
