I love how she references Victor so profusely and with such reverence - she's an absolute delight Change the world young lady - you're wonderful

Mohini became huge in the Indian scene when she performed with AR Rehman on Coke Studio India. She was probably 15 and part of an ensemble of some of the best musicians in India. But she played incredibly well and with such confidence that I immediately knew that she's going to become massive! Keep rocking!

A beautiful and respectful interview. One of the hallmarks of your interviewing style, Rick, is not overstepping boundaries. You create space that allows people to 'be.'

My cousin lives in the same apartment building as her in Mumbai! She is so awesome! What a legend!!!!
  • Rick you're going to grow from 4 million subscribers to 40 million if you keep interviewing these young talented musicians. They're going on to do great things and your channel will record the history of their journey!

Such a wise and genuinely natural speaker who is bursting with unique talent. Our world needs more people like her. Pure bass magic.

Mohini Dey is no doubt very accomplished and talented, but what I find so striking is the way she talks about her family, especially her Dad and their relationship. I can tell it's been a journey and yet, she seems to have a maturity and clarity about her emotions that I can only wish we all had. This interview was delightful and reminded me of my own father. I wish Mohini more success ahead!
  • "If you don't know how to improvise, then there is nothing to talk about." That is such an amazing line, and I wholeheartedly agree. Intentionality and conversationality are essential.

Fantastic Interview. Mohini Dey is not only a fantastic bass player, she is also a very entertaining storyteller w/ lot of humor and human radiation. A joy to listen to her. Cheers from Bavaria.

This interview is like listening to a great philosopher relate her wisdom on music and playing bass. So engaging.

Good lord. She's mesmerizing. She just "blah, blah, blah, whatever"ed some of the most beautiful bass music I've ever heard 48:30. Just messing around. She's like the living embodiment of the bass. It feels like it's part of her body.

I am 64 years old, when I see and hear some of these younger musicians today, I am blown away. Yes they have U-Tube, Vid's and DVD's, & everyone teaching, which we didn't;t have i the 70's. But, the work ethic to get this good is really amazing. The late Al Mouzon used to tell me about musicians in Universities that would leave he would run into & leave his jaw dropping, and I totally agree when I hear someone like Mohini. Mohini is special!
