I love how this feels like one of those things where an actor is trying to start a music career, so his agent has the showrunners insert one of his songs into an episode.

Let's be honest: Even in-universe, this song is way too good for this show. I think the actual music director on this series, instead of making cheesy low-budget 80s tracks for a fictional show that never aired in-universe, actually overperformed and made songs that actually slap in real life.
