Let's talk about overcoming feeling so overwhelmed, we don't know where to start.

When I feel overwhelmed by my never-ending to-do list (or life in general) I tend to "ostrich" - aka avoiding and procrastinating.

So how do we overcome those feelings and actually get stuff done? It's all about embracing GETMO (Good Enough To Move On)!

  • I’ve learned that often the time I spend procrastinating is actually longer than the time it would have taken to do/finish the chore. I should also mention that I try to frame the word “chore” into “Accomplishment.” As in “What would I like to accomplish today?’ VS “How many chores are there to do?” Cleaning a bathroom is a chore. A clean bathroom is an accomplishment.

This GETMO concept is so freeing! Thank you! Doing things "good enough " requires that I kick my mom & grandma out of my head because my brain is trying to tell me that I'm not doing it "right" because I'm not doing it the way they taught me. Excellent video!

“…baked cookies for some reason.” That is the perfect phrase for anyone with ADHD. 😂Didn’t grocery shop or do laundry but there are fresh cookies I can eat while naked staring at a list of things to do 😂.
  • “GETMO” has to be what I adopt. It’s really hit home when you mentioned successful ppl doing what has to be done -and how my perfectionism has wreaked havoc at work and especially home. No more! Thanks for this podcast!
  • This has been one of the best podcasts I've heard in a long time. Very motivating.
  • CAS I believe you are sometimes too hard on yourself. You need down time just like we all do. You had a intense day yesterday. For your mental health you needed to have a break. Your family can do some of your list and your Mum & Dad don’t see the mess you see. They know you’re working and your family are happy. You’re doing great. ❤

I'm stressed for you in first 5 minutes! I'm thinking:1) prioritize bare minimum necessities; 2)delegate to kids and hubby; 3) order Hello Fresh and groceries; 4) give your parents credit to get the basics done this week along with your kids!
  • Cas, my fridge is STILL clean and organized 2 weeks later. And my silverware drawer, and got rid of half my utentils. Plus, I did reorganize my lingerie drawers and have kept my bed made up. Yesterday I had a nurse visit. It only took me 30 minutes to tidy my dining room so we could sit at the table and plan. Im able to find things faster. More motivation to keep going! The All Day DeClutter was transformative on so many levels. I realize the role trauma played in my life now 😢 but moving on is critical to my recovery. God is revealing me to..myself! The best money I ever spent!
  • Your soft voice and calmness are so helping my feelings of being overwhelmed. I just finished dishes and counters. Been working cleaning the cabinets on the outside and the drawers. Oh and I put my toaster in a tub down in the cabinet right under where it was. I feel so much better. Hope you will soon. Love ya. ❤😊
  • "Getmo" is such a brilliant (and catchy) motto. I will keep on telling me this. Deep down I'm a perfectionalist (you wouldn't think so when looking at my household). So, since it's basically all a mess, and I'm overwhelmed, don't know where to start and already know I won't manage to do it all, I don't start in the first place. My husband keeps on telling me "just start SOMEWHERE, and don't attempt to do it perfectly, there's no need to." He doesn't understand my way of thinking (and feeling - I get so anxious, all the stuff drives me crazy, makes me feel bad about myself and somehow paralizes me), and I know he's right, but it's still hard not to do it perfectly. I will keep on telling me "getmo" all day long from now on. By the way: I love your top!
  • I finally figured out how to not procrastinate with my dishes. Wash, dry and put all dishes away as I'm doing. If I don't they sit there forever..or until someone wants to use them again. I just love you, Cass. I've learned a lot from you ladies. 😁😁
  • Thank you!! I literately started crying.. Like you gave me permission to not be perfect yet not getting anything done. Because I was so overwhelmed. GETMO is my new mantra.. You just lifted so much hatred of myself from me..
  • When you said “what if we do it shitty?” That hit me in my soul, 😂😂😂 you’re so right and so great, thank you! 🫶🏻

I’m totally procrastinating today and how ironic that this video popped up. I feel like I’m drowning but here I am just watching you. Have a great time away with your hubby.
  • That’s what has been so hard for my adhd brain. I have always wanted things to look perfect and I’m horrible with time management and think I can fit it all in.

I’m literally coming down from an overwhelm anxiety attack!!!!! This is perfect timing for me today Suffocating with the stress of my to-dos!!! Exactly!!!!
  • A couple of months ago my husband and I went on a cruise for our 20th anniversary. Which sounds like a fabulous vacation. But with 6 kids and school in session, we had to have my parents and in-laws come stay in our home (take turns) while we were gone. They used our bedroom and bathroom. I was soooo stressed getting my house ready for guests to stay without me there to help. And all the details required to leave my kids for a week. 😱😱😱 I almost backed out of my trip. Thankfully we went and everyone survived. But I wish I had been able to prioritize the things that really needed to get done.

Just what I was looking for you read my mind that I needed a good podcast to get my cleaning done. I love listening to your podcast when cleaning because I get so much done. Plus you have helped me so much with your take your home back course. ❤ I've I've declutter about 80% of my stuff in my bedroom I have empty drawers to my dressers and have so many empty containers and boxes that I was using as storage. Thank you so much. 😊 Forgot to mention that the reason why I chose to declutter my home is because I'll be taking a trip to Mexico for a whole month and all I wanna do is come home to a clean and declutter home. As if I was walking into a hotel room. No piles and piles of clothes and nonsense stuff all over the place. Just wanna come home and continue to relax in a clean home. ❤

Whenever I feel useless, worthless or overwhelmed by everyone I need to do I put one of your videos or podcasts on! You have an incredible way of taking away our shame and making us believe we can do this. I think GETMO in particular will really help me, and hearing about your sister’s struggles definitely has- I’m at the same level of overwhelm and clutter; so please send her love and hugs from us. We also wanted to say a huge thank you to you too- it’s not just homes that you make better. XxX ♥️🌺
  • It's 3:30 p.m. I've been procrastinating all morning. I was literally just getting ready to start baking cookies and I stopped and looked at the counter and sighed....Dishes piled a mile high again! I just have not been resetting in the evenings regularly lately and I'm feeling the aftermath of my laziness. I decided to turn to Clutterbug for help getting motivated and sure enough I'm getting the motivation and smiles that I needed. Thanks Cass!🤗
