as a RedMage who once totalled 20 Raises across a 15 minute slogfest of a trial with healers and tanks repeatedly dying, and at the end not receiving a single commend.... This is how Red Mages become Black

Black Mage, White Mage, and Red Mage all fighting and arguing in a Dungeon about who the superior spell slinger is. Blue Mage just sitting outside the entrance eating glue and killing gods with their own abilities.

I have a friend that played black mage as we were going through the story together and everytime he got a new ability he would start rambling and theorizing about where new abilities went in his rotation Meanwhile I was over here like: Optimal Throwing Rocks rotation (White Mage)

"Does rotation practice on a dummy for 2 hours" - "feels great" - "goes into extreme fight" - "dies of death"

I literally just picked up this game yesterday and went "Ooh thaumaturgy looks cool" and now I'm living with the knowledge that my class is going to be pain.

Enochian being changed to a trait instead of a skill is like the best thing ever to happen to Black Mage. Also, triple cast is awesome. And, yet, BLM is the only class in the game without a self-heal. Yes, we do have a crappy shield ability. But that doesn’t count. But why do I love BLM? Triple cast fire 4. Do I die a lot? Yup. The floor is comfortable! But seriously - you want to master a fight? If you master it with BLM, you’ve mastered it.

The thing is Black Mage is one of those classes where one day you just get it and then you look back like "Damn, it was never hard... I'm was (and quite possibly still am) just stupid"

Here's whats amazing about Pint... and I'm being dead serious. Not only is his production and editing chops amazing, but he actually is truly thinking about the insights and human truths around the game and classes then effortlessly weaves it into something you will never get tired for watching. But he's also teaching you something and inspiring you and entertaining you all in one. Period. Pint is GOATED.

An objective for glory, the arduous journey of self-improvement under a mentor, peer pressure accompanied by inner turmoil, mentor caving into self-doubt, and capped off with the student encouraging the mentor with an uplifting message. Pint. 5 months ago i started as a black mage during the free trial that i was alotted. I had so much pride because my friends that got me into it said that Black Mage was highest DPS but hardest to play because of the lack of mobility. I became a half way decent BLM and i was proud. When i got the full game, I ended up switching classes to try something new, i went to reaper at level 70 and leveled it all the way to 90. Then to Gunbreaker because i needed a tank class and sucked at DRK but didnt want to be a warrior or paladin carbon copy. I tried healers, i tried other DPS. I leveled bard for the music. I walked away from BLM because of the fun of the mobility and ease of play. but your video has renewed my faith. Today...I return as a BLM.

For anyone who’s wondering, here are some extra tips Pints Pride didn’t allow him to tell you: 1. If the boss is going to hit you with a coquesmasher 9000 and getting out of the way means losing Enochian, get out of the way. Remember: a sub optimal DPS still deals more damage than a corpse. 2. Your Leylines are powerful. Make sure you put them in the right place away from the tank’s position. As a tank main, we don’t have to move as much, please take that into consideration. We’re the guys meant to take the A$$clapper 243075, not you. 3. Most importantly: don’t let your ego control you. The healer will call a hit man on you if you make too many stupid mistakes. You can’t deal damage if you’re dead, and will have to rebuff yourself anyway if you’re revived.
