Wow.....asking if Germany is in Europe.... The whole world knows that Germany is in europe. History!!!
  • @saskiapanter
Germany is in fact in Europe, next to the Netherlands lol. Try history books, you'll see why we in Europe will never forget that. But as for Joost, this song is an ode tot his parents and a letter to his father. His father passed away when Joost was 12, and his mom passed away when he was 13. The lyrics are in fact pretty serious, a serious message wrapped in happy music, until the end, when he gets serious. I love his song and message, I haven't felt this much connected to a Eurovision song as I have with this one. He stole my heart with it, and I really hope the European viewers will understand the song and also love it like I do.
  • And the dance they're doing at the end is called 'hakken' which is generally linked to the hardcore/gabber scene

The sad fact is that this song got disqualified because of some small thing even though this song was for his parents and how he promised them he would get on Eurovision someday and both parents died after that when he was 12 and 13
  • @Freke-wz7bj
The song is about his dead parents and how his father was his biggest inspiration.

This is a song about European Unity and, personally for him, following his dad’s advice and traveling and embracing people from all over Europe. We love you Klein. Europeans are now more united than everπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

5:02 He lost both of his parents at a very young age, due to illness. His dad once told him "it's a world without borders" and Joost promised his dad he'd be in the Eurovision Song Contest one day. The picture you see burning is of his childhood

It doesn't matter where Joost travels or what he's eating, there will always be the pain of missing his parents. Nobody could help him, not even when he paid them. Children should be happy, enjoy their lives, right? What if you're not happy as a kid? What if you have PTSD and you have to wait 2 years to get mental health? Joost's father died when he was 12 and he found his mother 8 months later on the couch. She passed because of a cardiac arrest. With this song he is taking the step to move on with his life. That's the meaning of the fire. Joost shares his fathers wisdom: people invented borders/ boundaries, so you can invent your own world. Father worked as a volunteer with refugees when he was alive. So the song tells us about the pain of grieving but also contains a hopeful message of Europe being a place of freedom and diversity. We are all human beings. Let's come together. Thank you for your reaction! Greetings from Westland, The Netherlands ❀

  • @ender420-gs7rb
His dad died when he was 12 and his mom died when he was 13 and this whole song is a message to his parents and its "europa-pa" because he misses his dad (papa is daddy in dutch)
