Air Metal Detector on Barmouth Beach August 2022. Coins.

Published 2022-12-02
Metal detecting Barmouth Beach, North Wales, with the Air Metal Detector.
This was my first proper attempt at using the Air Metal Detector, and my first go at making a detecting video (I have trimmed out most of the rubbish targets.)
I discovered that the detector's bleeps didn't record because I was using headphones plugged in to my phone. And although the bleeps were going through my phone as the detector's control box, the microphone couldn't pick that up. I think I have a solution for the next video.
There was a little bit of falsing at 77 on the wet sand, but I got to recognise the tone and ignored it. The magic rock near the end of the video gave a strong signal, but I didn't want to carry it around with me to break up later.
Just after I stopped recording my targets on the beach, I found a nice coin spill of £4.50. I also found a couple of tent pegs, and as I was walking back to my car, still swinging, I heard a little girl exclaim, "That's so cool!" (She was with her mother) and she wanted to see what I'd found. When she saw the tent pegs, she said that she'd just found one whilst digging in the sand, and insisted that I had to have it to go with the other ones I found. Made me smile.
Thanks for watching.

  • I live in Tywyn (which is 4-5stop south on the train) and last year I bought a second hand Garrett AT pro so i them went detecting on the beach ( it was February) and I found very little , but it was the same for another detectorist . I have found out possible why it is so difficult , apparently (how true it is) Tywyn beach has a big electrical cable running the length of it and it plays havoc with detectors of i am looking for an appropriate beach to detect any ideas?
