CAMPUS CRAWL is a new series where I take you to tour the top universities around the world. So you can eliminate the fear of going to college and decide where you want to go. Or just get a wider perspective on college life.

Today we went on an NYU campus tour. We visited all the buildings and learned about student life there.

What's the BEST part about studying at NYU?
You're literally in the heart of New York City - the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. You have the freedom to explore New York at your free will because the campus is open and integrated into the city.

NYU has a lot of campuses across the world. So it's a great university if you wanted to study abroad.

What's the WORST part about studying at NYU?
You're alone in the sea of people. It's a weird thing but students tend to feel lonely because there is no closed-off NYU campus. So it's hard to find friends and get together. If campus culture is important to you then Columbia University (also in New York City) might be a better university for you.

  • I feel like NYU would either be perfect fit for some while being a complete nightmare for others, its really different for college (and probably a big jump from high school in more suburban or rural areas) but some people love it!!
  • one day at nyu: turn on computer and zoom. class starts. class ends. turn off zoom

Just got accepted today, can't wait!! Edit: in case y'all wanted to know how I got in I will tell you. One factor of how I got in was with affirmative action, since I'm Hispanic. Another factor are of course my grades. I took a total of 9 ap classes throughout my college career. I started with one ap class in sophomore year, 3 in junior, and 5 in senior. My grades weren't perfect, on the ap exams my highest score through all the classes was a 3. However, all classes had grades over 80 when I finished them. Another factor was clubs, this one is important. I honestly didn't take that many clubs in high school but for one club I was both a treasurer and vice president. Leadership in clubs is definitely important to see. Next, the personal essay. This essay is important, they want to know about you. For my essay I wrote about how I have an Internal voice that pulls me away from becoming the best of me. At the end of the essay I concluded that I put so much blame on myself for mistakes that weren't my fault and therefore resulted in me having an Internal voice pulling me back on making more mistakes. This personal essay helped justify why my grades weren't as perfect and why I didn't take as much clubs. Next is the why nyu? Honestly this essay took me on my 20 mins and I was just honest. I talked about how it would further my career and that I liked new York city. Next is the sat. I did do the sat, and I got a 1200. Since COVID happened, sat was optional and therefore I didn't show my sat score. That should be about everything that helped me get in. I hope this helped and I hope you get into this school as well!!

The interior of NYU buildings looks like it would be in malls

Oh my god, your video is literally the most helpful school review and different from all the generic comments I have heard before. And I meant that in the best way possible. Thank you

Props to you bro. I'm an American middle school teacher since 1983, the last 5 years in China. I share Campus Crawl videos with my Chinese students all the time. I know some are inspired to, and hopefully will someday, attend an American or other foreign university because of you! Gratitude, love, and respect

NYU is kind of British style, like the Kings and LSE without campus culture. I said the London is its campus but actually not, that's indeed lonely and melancholic.

Love from a student of NYU Stern. But a little correction, the business school is actually on the left of the Bobst Library, but not on the right of it.😂😂

Thanks for your video. It reminds me of my everyday life when I’m studying there a year ago.

Hi, Hafu, your channel is such a amazing one, the indeed No.1 of college and student. I love your videos. Through the Mit and Havard videos and this NYU video you make them tangible for me, not such a mysterious and exclusive one. Thanks, and hope to see more excellent videos.
