I still remember when this happened. I was a freshman at a nearby university, and the accident happened on the same road that I used everyday to get to uni. I knew the guy that caused it. I had a class together with him in high school, and his sister was in the same grade as me, my grandparents went to the same church as their family. It's just so sad...I can't imagine losing my parents at the same time in such a way. I know they would be so proud of her and how far she's come. As for Todd, I'm sure he lives with the guilt every single day.

It's unfortunate that this took place, but it's good that she is serving the public about awareness of the ills of distracted driving.

She came to my school and touched my heart<3

She is a powerful person who needs to be listened to. Listen to Junior Brown sing “Hang up and Drive”
  • Oh this poor girl! I lost both my parents 10 days apart and the pain is unbelievable. But I was 39 and had a very supportive husband. I can't imagine being 18 and having ALL these injuries. God bless her.

When I graduated from hell- i mean high school a classmate of mind got some terrible news. His dad and little sister had gone to another town to pick up both sets of grandparents. On the way back they were behind a semi truck. Suddenly the truck swerved so dramatically it went off the road completely and crashed through a fence. But it was already too late for a reaction to save them when the reason for the truck's wild maneuver could be seen. My classmates sister, father, grandparents were all killed instantly along with the other driver (who it turned out was drunk). On top of that, the truck driver was absolutely destroyed by guilt. He started drinking, lost his job, and died a few years later, sleeping on the streets. It pretty much destroyed graduation. The kid was quite popular and an extremely nice person. I got bullied a lot, and even though I barely knew him, he stuck up for me several times. God, I haven't thought of him in years. I hope he's doing okay. He'd be 49 or 50 by now. I hope he's doing okay.

She came to my school Friday. My friend sitting right next to me was crying and I almost cried but this is so inspirational. I’ve been praying for her and her family and she is super cool and funny. Her and her husband are the best in the world. I love you all so much!! So happy you’re alive to share the story with so many so they can be aware of these things.
  • Are you kidding me?! The guy that was on the cell phone and caused the accident got no charges. Wtf?!
  • @allcurrentwiz
Just wanted you to know 8 years later, your message is getting across. I will share as well. My sympathy for your loss. As the father of 4 daughters and 5 children, I couldn't imagine the impact must have had on you. Continue sharing.

Dear Ms. Good, I am so sorry for all you and your family and community have gone through. I pray that all the children who loved your mom will make wiser decisions in the future regarding when and when NOT to use a mobile phone. Thank you for sharing your story. May many hundreds of thousands of ears listen well.

I'm from Harrisburg PA and we now have laws against being on a cell phone while driving. It is illegal to do anything on your phone while behind the wheel of a car. And the laws are strictly enforced. I'm so very sorry to hear your story. Bless your parents and bless you for all you have done to stop texting and driving. May life bring you happiness and prosperity.
  • ...so strong...so intelligent...so beautiful...and obviously still here for a reason...

She had to go through all of that trauma and recovery in the hospital without her mom or dad by her side. This absolutely breaks my heart.
