If you get the chance, do test the new mike in a windy situation, if the foam cover is not enough, you may need to look for what is known as a "dead cat." It's a furry cover which is very effective in the wind. :)

As I mentioned to another hiker/light camping person on YT, one can make a tubular shepherd's crook, install into a backpack custom-sewn-in-tube-sleeve, and then be hand's free. One can rotate the camera around in the backpack in control of the viewing situation.

Deluxe! I got a camera with a microphone as well. Just remember to turn on the microphone, because my camera says "microphone installed" but does not tell you that you forgot to turn the mike on. People are much happier with the new sound. Thank you for sharing this with us, Jim. Stay safe and stay warm

Wow that is one heck of a camera Jim. Enjoy. We have had only 8” of snow all winter and bare grass for weeks here and 9/10c on Monday and Friday.

Wow Jim. That is a lot of camera. I just went the other way and bought and action camera. Would be great to know what brand and model it is. I agree, sound is all important in a video. Looking forward to videos recorded with the new camera
