This is the Sony CFS-1000S, year of production 1987, in 1950 boomboxes didn't even exist, there were no integrateds, there were no audio cassettes, there were the legendary valve radios and turntables for vinyl records, however congratulations for this recovery and restoration

There is no way this stereo unit is from 1950. The first compact cassette appeared in 1965. Boomboxes didn't exist in the world until they appeared in 1970 in Japan, and usually, they were too big to carry. The stereo unit also had a small integrated TV screen. Boomboxes became available worldwide in 1980. This unit has advanced electronics, and I doubt capacitors existed 70 years ago.

If they existed, they weren't small like these. Also, the electronics industry in Malaysia has not developed enough to produce speakers. At that time, they were produced only in Europe, Japan, the Eastern Bloc, and Yugoslavia. Sony started manufacturing audio in 1970. The first device they made in 1957 was a rice cooker.

I love how he's probing around the circuit boards ultra fast pretending to be troubleshooting the circuitry 😂

О, ещё одно сказочное, постановочное видео)
  • We don't have plastic casing for the radio in 1950's. It's either like a size of a suitcase or heavier than 5 kilos.
But you've done an excellent work. What a great talent you have.

I like how he tested the plastic of the cassette deck with a multimeter just to see if it was plastic or not

This can never be from the 1950s.
    Cassettes didn't exist back then.
I'm old enough to know that for sure
  • There was no cassette player in the fifties as they were introduced in the early seventies only. Also, no solid state tech. but only vaccum tubes.
  • Ja trabalhei muito em consertos eletrônicos,e um aparelho nesse estado ficaria inviavel o conserto pois suas placas estariam todas corroidas.
  • I bought one in 88. in Singapore, 50 D/US,
lasted about 25 years, used it a lot.
    Radio and Casette.

I have the same exact model and I used to scratch this Sony model using cassette tapes. I took out the tape cover for easy access and voila, my friends were impressed at me for scratching and mixing on this oldschool gear! I found a way to mix and match songs using the pinch roller, nudge it to speed up and slow it down by pressing the middle part of the rotator. Definitely not from the 50s but from the late 80s!
  • I have this cassette tape player when i was in college, that was 1989, and it last about 7 years, it sounds good.

I would like to cordial request to 'Mr.Kenichiro Yoshida' CEO of 'Sony Corporation' to reward this man who dynamically restored the 'sony sound system & speaker' 1950's (almost 73 years ago!!) model. Which he has collected it from garbage & successfully repaired it.
    Many thanks to that technician.
