Charlie Chaplin: The Impossible Dream

Published 2023-03-02
Paying homage to a creative genius whose brilliance nobody can really do justice to. I don't even know what to say about Charlie Chaplin, the beloved Little Tramp. Actor, director, writer, producer, composer, and icon of the silent era. Perhaps surprisingly, I like his post-Silent Era films better - in fact I should do a follow up video at some point discussing my top three favorite Chaplin movies. However, I still hold his silent work in the highest regard. He was a giant of the cinema, and the mark he made will never fade away.

That's why I feel this song works for him. He accomplished so much in the early days of film-making, he did things others may have deemed impossible, he brought laughter and cheer to millions of audiences, and at the end of the day, he will always remain the Little Tramp.

Here's to you, Sir Charles.

Credit goes to my dear mother for suggesting I use "The Impossible Dream" for this Chaplin tribute.

I somehow missed this lovely one, too! I haven't been getting all my subscription updates or all my comments ... Although, since they 'disappeared' me today, it doesn't matter ....
