How I Reload a Revolver Left-Handed

Published 2022-09-21
Putting out some info I've learned in my time with wheelguns as a lefty. This is my preferred method for reloading Smith & Wesson revolvers as a southpaw. The principles will apply to other revolvers with slight modification to account for different manufacturers' cylinder releases.

  • I'm not left handed, but I do practice with both hands because I wanna be as ambidextrous as possible--this is the best technique I've found so far, very smooth and easy, so thank you for this!
  • Great video. As a leftie it's always interesting having to come up with a different manual of arms than most others.
  • Thanks for the demo. Love my gp100. Will be practicing next time I'm at the range.

Just got a new Taurus, and I already reload like this nice to see it's a natural left hand response to just smack down the thing that spits out the bullets versus using your thumb how I've seen rand hand people do
  • My brother is left-handed and says that revolvers just work better for him because of it. I'm right handed, but I do like me a good wheelgun as well

Pardon my question, i’m new to guns. While reloading isn’t the cylinder hot to touch after shooting all the previous rounds. Would it burn the right hand?
