The Rings Of Power Episode 7 - Is this just a bad remake?

While not a direct adaptation of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, is there anything noteworthy or original from this underwhelming series? What ever happened to creativity and innovation whether cinematic or with narrative?

I think I'll stick with the lord of the rings!....a tru classic....we need more like this.

I always ask myself if I wouldn't be as harsh on those things if a I wouldn't know and love the original. And then there were two Star Trek Series. Of both I have roughly seen as much as RoP. I hate one (which seems to do pretty much the same shitty basics of RoP) and like the other and I have never seen TOS. Soooo ... I guess I wouldn't like RoP even if I didn't know LotR. It's so flawed and and you said the stakes ... which stakes? Also that baiting stuff with Not-Gandalf. What did they actually thing? That it would bring tension? I think it's boring, because I also had the feeling they didn't really know who it really is so they could change it last second if they pleased ...
