When it comes to fishing old school lures, one of the best ones ever made is a spinnerbait. It catches a lot of fish and it catches really big fish.

In this video I will talk about everything when it comes to spinnerbait fishing. We will talk springtime spinnerbaits, summer spinnerbaits, fall spinnerbaits, spinnerbait mistakes, skipping spinnerbaits and how to build a spinnerbait. Lets get into it!

BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

We burn spinnerbaits up in New Hampshire, Lake Winnipesaukee. Buldge the water, chartreuse colorado small and willow trailor and watch the fish come at it like torpedoes. 20' of water, doesnt matter, rip it!
Cloudy, overcast, with a little wind, all summer long.

You forgot about night fishing with a black spinnerbait that has a big single Colorado blade during the hot summer months.
  • This video makes me want to get out and fish spinner baits. I feel they are heavily used and tend to try other baits, forgetting they are heavily used because they are very effective at catching quality bass and numbers of bass. Thanks for another great video.

The 3/8 war eagle in that color is my go to, except i use a z man paddlerz in Houdini as a trailer in most scenarios. I like the slightly less aggressive kick the smaller paddle tail makes, especially in cold front conditions. Im also able to keep the bait a little deeper without slowing waaaay down. Now im thinking a swimming senko would work great too. Great video!

Well, you opened up your video by showing a legend.
Clunn is known as the Crankmeister, but a lot of folks don't realize the success he's had with a spinnerbait

Thank you for another detailed, informative video! I consider myself to be an advanced bass angler and I always learn something that I can apply to improve my own fishing. Thank you for the hard work you invest in this channel and going way beyond the same old information that gets repeated and recycled on most fishing channels.

Thank you so much. I think this will help me build confidence with a spinnerbait which I hardly use. Hell, I didn't even catch a fish on it last year until AUGUST because I was so busy reverting to my #1: an underspin swimbait. I now know all the specialized uses for this lure. I'm still going to love dragging an underspin across every kind of cover and bottom, but I am anxious to try what you shared.

MLF is a good example of spinnerbait fish right now. Lots of guys throwing spinnerbaits in the cyprus trees
  • @BlazedMage
Everything this guy said, I already do! And it's spot on for sure! I thought I was a little crazy until I started looking at more videos. Excellent advice!
  • @billybob6397
Your content is excellent!! I've been fishing for bass in zimbabwe and find all this invaluable
  • @rshock
I grew up fishing and playing in Higgins lake.
    Beautiful place!
  • When i was a kid in the late 70s, i started fishing IN- LINE spinners, and later on with tandems. And even with the in-lin , some of the biggest bass ive ever caught , was on spinners !
  • Spinnerbaits are one of my favorites. I've caught more bass on spinners and roostertails than anything else. Still I learn a lot from this video and am looking forward to putting to use. I also love to use jig spinners, they're hard to beat for catching red-eye and even work with smallmouth too.
  • @jrowinski82
I have basically replaced spinnerbaits with chatterbaits, micro Alabama rigs, and underspin swimbaits and I feel like I haven't missed out on catching fish or even trophy bass bites.
  • Talk about getting close to the wood...in letsibogo dam Botswana cast your jig to hit the trunk of the tree and as it falls they run with it !

I like the way you present almost everything about the bass hobby. On a side topic you may want to address. What could be the optimum combos of braid to mono or flouro. Given on the specific diameters of when connect thru a given type of knot. Maybe 4 or more knots for stats. Results found on strength. line breakage, either type. etc. Just a thought to ponder over.
