Hurricane Ida is dumping some heavy rain in the pond right now. I'll try to give you guys an update in the next couple of days!
  • I hope you open the drain up and let the water drain to the point of being able to build the type of dock that you want to have. There will be many years of enjoying the dock you want instead of enduring the dock you don't want. You spent the money on the well, and you did the manual labor of putting in the 2" fill pipe, you know that you can fill the pond manually if in fact you don't get the typical rain you talk about in every video. With all of that said, stay safe! I for one am praying for not just your family, but all of the impacted areas from Ida, and I'm sure many others are as well. Blessings to you and yours, Mr. BamaBass!!

FILLL HER UPPPP. I have kept myself updated with your pond videos and I loveeeee them. I’m a college student with not many friends so I’m always trying to find stuff to do with my free time and watching these pond videos helps with the boredom for sureeeee!!!!

I'm moving to NC and in time I plan to buy a 40 acre plot of farm land to eventually build a "Ohio" round barn that can seat 500 people for events comfortably for receptions and events while doubling as a restaurant during the week. This is something I would like to do with a large island with an outdoor gazebo for outdoor ceremonies while I also have bonfire pits. The overall plan is to eventually have the pond filled with Koi fish and lotus flowers. I just love this!

Add a 45 degree joint on to the end of your feed pipe and then add some larger river rock for the water to fall upon to prevent erosion. On e your water level is above the pipe, you're golden! Can't wait to see it filled up! Great project!

This should be on trending… this entire series, BamaBass has ALWAYS provided top notch video content and this has just solidified him and Liz as some of the best content creators for the fishing community. Will always be a fan!

Don't know why I am obsessed with this. It has been four whole days. I NEED and update! 😁🐟

I don't know why I clicked on the link for this video, but I am glad I did. Absolutely fascinating , with a good narrator. Just the right balance of vocal and visual information. A rare find to come across such a well produced video clip.

Turn the well inlet into an aerator? That way it doesn't drill through the clay liner and enhances the pond health (meaning better bass!) I would drain and build the dock right the first time with piers and avoid the floating dock. My last suggestion would be getting some 3 or 4 inch plastic pipe and criss cross it inside the willow cage and zip tie it to the cage. That way when the willows rot in 2 or 3 years, the pipe will still be a great fish attractor.

My uncle , my cousin & I did this very thing back in 2009 with 60 acres on my uncles land . I’m from the Mid West . The first thing my uncle did was find a natural spring then had it capped & redirected a creek so it would flow into the lake & back out again . It took 5 years before we could fish it because we had to make sure the ecosystem was viable for the fish . Now it’s a thriving lake & my uncle stocks it regularly . It’s a blast to fish & we don’t have to go far to fish it .

Imagine drilling for water but ending up with oil.
  • @Solarlube
This is great, lots of hide outs for the younger fish to be able to make it to adulthood. You made it to Regional Victoria Australia. A pond which is multi-functional I like that makes so much sense.
  • @501-stud8
I thoroughly enjoyed the backyard bass pond build series 3 years ago,"Oh My! How time flies!" Now you all have gone and outdone yourselves with this amazing 5 acre pond build series on another level!! Must say I'm looking forward to lots of great content at the farm pond.. I see lots of fun being had in your little family's future, for a long time to come.. Enjoy!
  • I know it sounds silly but I feel like we are all part of this, and this whole process has been awesome.
  • @Jrizy.
I can’t imagine what this cost you man. Respect. I want to come fish it SO BAD!
  • @varisent6672
Gotta love the Gulf! Floating dock, for sure, great entry while you figure large, permanent structure...
  • Rake a little bit of topsoil on the island. Clay has no nutrients, and also suffocates root growth from lack of pockets for air. Roots like oxygen as well. If you put a bit of topsoil, the grass will take faster.
  • It would suck to have to drain it and start over, but being able to build your dock exactly how you want it and being able to have the peace of mind with knowing your clay liner has no weaknesses is extremely valuable in the long run and seems like the best option.
  • So jealous...beautiful pond! Can't wait to see it full. I've been struggling all year with my little backyard pond, trying to get water in it and it's only .2 acre!

Brother.....you are living the dream! Bass fisherman myself. Haven't kept one to fillet and cook in probably 10 years. Just catch and release for me........cause dang it , they are so fun to reel in! I have a special hole I go to with a few 9+ lbers........damn near rip the rod out of my hand!
