In this episode we explore a water park that was left abandoned in China. At first, it seemed like a perfectly good water park was left behind, but we soon realized why it closed - it was sinking!

  • This gave me a “after humans all die and one lives and sees the world” vibe

My theory: I think that either the ground is sinking, or there was a earthquake that caused this mess. It would be too much to repair: to make sure the slides are stable, fix the cracked ground and the worst part, the water pipes underground that was in all likelihood nothing you can fix. It's too mch things to fix and then, the water park was abandoned.

i like how real this video is. no overreaction. no scary sound effects. no title like ''sPENDinG 24 HOurS aT a AbAndONEd wAter paRk In cHINa (GONE WRONG) *emotional*'' just 4 friends hanging out and exploring. its nice. C:
  • Weird to think that people could be doing this kind of stuff in Disneyland in hundreds of years time.

Absolutely love the fact that there’s no graffiti, all the glasses in the cafe are intact ! If that was America or Britain it would all be smashed to bits and graffitied all over
  • For anyone curious, this park was opened in July 2014 and closed by October 31st 2015. The park cost 3.18 million yuan to construct, but the owner only payed 1.54 million yuan. This obviously lead to legal issues, and it turned out the owner participated in other sketchy practices like failing to list his assets such as his house. It's a shame this all went down because it looked like a really nice park otherwise! I got this info from an article commented on r/submechanophobia, on a post about the Dolphin Bay Dream Water Park in China.

This really gives off Cherynobl vibes
  • @planesrift
Ironically that could be the safest place in China right now.

The thing about abandonment is that they just drop everything and leave it as it is. It feels like a ghost town it’s actually really creepy.
  • @DeadalusG
sad to think about that someone actually lives there. It was very respectful of you guys to just leave things as is and leave when you realised. They probably dont have much more than that

Also the guy on the motorbike was super nice and just sounds like a kind, concerned grandpa minding the kids. He wasn’t offended they were there much at all, actually just commented on the safety and I think he really understood that they spent all this effort to go there.

“That is scary...let’s go down here” That’s just the definition of a horror movie
  • @stegius2553
21:28 "Uhh .. is that a person?" it's just like the early plot in a horror movie
  • @BexTheBoo388
The thought of being trapped in one of those slides is my worst nightmare
  • @ktvalor9401
"I dont feel safe on this wobbly slide, Im getting off" "Go stand over there for a picture" "Okay"
  • @BowmakerFox
If you guys ever go to a water park again, I would recommend taking some high quality rope. That way, you can hook it around an anchoring point so if worst comes to worst and the slide is slippery and blocked at the bottom for whatever reason, you can use that to help with climbing back up. Kinda like reverse abseiling.

I can imagine little kids running around in bright summertime swimming costumes and teen age ish friend groups eating ice pops and everyone having fun on water slides and stuff but then it’s just empty and lifeless. It’s kind of unsettling but mainly just sad to me. It makes me nostalgic to something that never happened to me

"and leave before sunset" thats spirited away stuff right there
