5:46 "My daughters stepped up to the plate and they saved my life." What beautiful daughters that MaryLou has raised.

EVERYONE knew her in the 80's. You didn't need to be a sports fan, or an Olympics fan. She truly was America's sweet hart. Just an optimistic, unproblematic person that was adored. I wish her the very, very best.

I had a serious viral pneumonia several years back. Never having smoked or had any lung problems it was quite terrifying. Went home on oxygen for a few weeks, had to get PT just to get my strength back. Coughed for 6 months afterward. And mine was not nearly as bad as Mary Lou’s. Not being able to catch your breath is probably one of the most anxiety producing symptoms you can experience. Pneumonia leaves your lungs scarred and you must be forever diligent about avoiding germs and sick people. Covid was especially terrifying since my lungs probably couldn’t take it. I really feel for Mary Lou and send her prayers for a full recovery. That people could resent a national treasure in her time of need, is incomprehensible to me. Blessings Mary Lou 💗🙏🏻✝️👼🏻
  • Perfect example as to why the American health care system needs an overhaul. We are the only developed country without a comprehensive health care system. I prayer for her continued recovery.
  • We love you MaryLou!!!! Dont stop. Dont give up!!! ❤❤❤❤

Ms. Retton: I suffered some bad breathing problems years back (not nearly as severe as yours). I was sick for months, and nothing seemed to work until my sister sent me some Fenugreek tea (herbal tea; sweeten with real honey local to your area; slice of lemon; drink as hot as you can). I was well in 3 days. Wishing you nothing but the best of health and happiness. America loves you! ❤

  • During Covid, I had pneumonia for 6 months. Not from Covid, but from all of the smoke from the forest fires. I didn’t think I would ever recover. It’s the worst feeling, not being able to breathe. Hang in there, Mary Lou! You’ll beat this! ❤

I can understand the highs and lows.I was on a ventilator after my liver was lacerated during a liver biopsy. I was in a coma for 4 days and woke up to my husband praying over me. I pray you continue to get better. Thank God for your wonderful daughters. Love and Kindness, Teresa
  • It's none of our business how she spent the monies, when you give you give and you give with a gracious heart. I am sure she will continue to improve and do well. Have a long and healthy life MLR!!!!

She’s my son in law’s cousin. There were a ton of Rettons at my daughter’s wedding shower. Very nice family. I admire her.
